every time i buy a star fish or any type of crabs , they die after a couple of days , why ?

I bought 2 tiger oscars, the orange on them is so vibrant I am convinced the are painted. At the pet shop they had some kind of white fish and they had perfect diamonds on them, pink and blue. The owner was chinese, I asked if they were painted he said yes,,but he couldn't explain how. does anyone know how or what they give the fish to make them so colourful?

I've have a large pond & always beleived weeds/plants were good for the pond, i always beleived they put oxygen into the water, the other day i was speaking to a young lad who informed me that some weeds/plants put oxygen into the water in the day light hour but at night take oxygen from the water.
Is this true ? If so how can you tell

Apparently, it doesn't like to see it's reflection. I don't know if it's a certain habit this species has or what. It's very small, probably measuring 3-5 cm. It has small, black, beady eyes. It looks like a baby, but I'm not sure. It has a small short dorsal fin that looks like a triangle, and a small forked tail. Please help my sister and I! She fed it goldfish flakes for the last few days and it hasn't been eating the food. I don't want to tell an 8-year-old that her pet fish died because it starved itself to death.

i just noticed his tail is fading and the edges are somewhat whithe and it looks liek there are open sores that are red on the end of his tail. he is the only fish in a 40 gallon aquarium along with 2 mystery snails and a african dwarf frog. he goet tail rot when i first got him over a year ago and form what ive described does it sound liek he has it again? i have some melafix. should i put some in the aquarium?? will it harm the snails? i also do nto have any live plants. so does it sound like my fish has tail rot AGAIN??

the fish swims on it's side and stays at the bottom of the tank. it also swims around like it's going crazy.

I have a ten gallon tank with one guppy I am thinking aobut just getting a small tank for the guppy because I think I am done with guppys for now because I havent had the best of luck with maintaining brackish water

So for the ten gallon witha filter heater and air pump

-What I would like is one live plant and a couple plastic ones
-A small school of fish(like rosy reds maybe?)
-a few snails(can any kind of snails live in freshwater?)

so my question is what kind of plants would work well in this, is there a certain kind of snail to get, and what kind of fish should I get

My beta, Jango is very sick! We did have him in an aquarium with some other fish. He never seemed to like any of them at all. He kept puffing out and charging at them but never got any of them. We think one of our fish tore part of his tail off! We took Jango out and put him in a little bowl by himself and he is acting very sluggish and weak. What should I do? I love Jango so much and I don't want him to be sick and die! What should I do!? Help me, PLEASE! I LOVE JANGO!!!

Ive seen these fish in walmart but never thought to look and see what they were but now im curious

They are gray and swim all together in the corner and they look kinda evil

They were about 1.5-3 inches long

no i wouldnt get them from walmart i dont like how walmart treats there fish but im just curious as to what they are

Ive kept Goldfish for 3 years now. Just recently I changed to a bigger tank and now I just cant get rid of murky water? It was always really clear in the smaller tank. Ive tried changing the water more often, ive tried different filters? Can anyone help me please?

I have a 10 gallon tank and i have a filter but i was wondering if i need an air pump for it? I'd prefer not to have one, but i don't want the fish to die in like 2 days...i'm thinking of getting a dwarf puffer and some kind of colorful fish. Oh and it's a tropical freshwater tank.

I was thinking of getting a Betta and housing it in the 2 gallon wall hanging fish tank (Fish Bubbles by Next Wave) and was wondering how do I take it off the wall to clean it? Do I have to unscrew it and when done screw it back on? I'd have to do it once a week, would that ruin the wall?

I have had my comet for 3 months now, I bought him as a feeder goldfish at 1.5 in., and he is now a little over 2 in. He was matalic white with an orange sploch on his head, I have noticed that his underbelly is geting a faint yellowish tint.
Otherwise he is very active and seems quite happy.

I don't want the boring mollies and platies... well, not that they're boring... I want something different. It must be tropical, peaceful or semi-aggressive, and not too hard to take care of. And not too expensive. And that you can get a Petco.
