I have a ten gallon tank with one guppy I am thinking aobut just getting a small tank for the guppy because I think I am done with guppys for now because I havent had the best of luck with maintaining brackish water

So for the ten gallon witha filter heater and air pump

-What I would like is one live plant and a couple plastic ones
-A small school of fish(like rosy reds maybe?)
-a few snails(can any kind of snails live in freshwater?)

so my question is what kind of plants would work well in this, is there a certain kind of snail to get, and what kind of fish should I get

Guppies, snails, and plants all do fine in fresh water. If you are currently doing brackish water, change over to fresh over a matter of days, so as not to shock the guppy. I like red ramshorn snails, but any kind you get will probably do fine. Any sort of freshwater community tank fish will do, just don't overcrowd your 10 gallon tank. There are fancy guppies, very inexpensive. If you want to get away from guppies, visit your pet store, they can advise you.

As for snails I like apple snails but they get big...like golf ball size. Apple snails do eat plants but so do alot of other snails so be carefull. Im a fan of java plants. They are easy to grow without alot of care and money. research plants before you buy because some require special lights and such.

i would use plastic becasue i had a live plant and it made my water green..snails are ok, but the ones i had would reproduce to fast..and i would recommend mollies. there are soo many types and they get along with guppys.
