No, a male and female will fight more often than not. But you could probably keep three females in an aquarium that size (must be more than two or they will kill each other).

Yes it is okay. Just don't put another male in the tank with it. Because u will soon only have 1. If the female gets pregnant then put her in a separate tank or the male will eat them!!1

I did not read the other replies so sorry if i repeat. Males and Females CANNOT go togethor because more often than not, the male will HOUND the female trying to breed with her, but she will not be willing. She will be killed in the process, leaving you with just that lone male. You can keep a group of females togethor, but even than, they can sometimes fight to the death, some females are just as aggressive as the male, but most of the time they are fine in a community. IT IS POSSIBLE TO KEEP BETTAS IN A COMMUNITY OF OTHER FISH! but avoid fish that have flowing fins because the betta will nip them thinking there another betta, and avoid fin nippers that will attack the betta. ive kept many succesful bettas in community tanks.

No, males and females will kill each other, no matter what the tank size. eventually they'll find each other and then they'd fight. only females can be kept together. I have 20-25 gallon tank and 8 females and a snail in it, they all get along fine. just no less than four females, they need enough to form a pack. in a tank that size you could safely keep up to 15 technically, but i wouldn't go with anymore than 10. hope that helps

No. I had three betta..at one time I tried just putting two in seperate tanks next to each other. The puffed up and gave each other the evil eye for two days...then I one morning I found the older of the two belly up. That was just because of intimidation!

Beta's do mate (eat their young), but the odds of you finding one they would be attracted to is very slim. They only mate once when they are very young, most are bought after prime.

BTW they are also known as Siamese Fighting Fish for that reason they hate company!

in case you're making a sorority of three-5 women and one male they could get alongside... No gurentees nonetheless... do no longer in basic terms get one male and one woman because of the fact they are going to maximum many times kill one yet another (one kill yet another). confirm you tank has a clear out with that many bettas and be arranged for the worst. in case you're prepared to put in the attempt make particular you get a male that may not as agressive.

It is best to keep Male bettas by themselves. you can keep several females together. Males do not do well with others of the same species, be it male or female, unless the female is ready to spawn.

No way! They will kill eachother. It is sometimes possible to keep female bettas together (I've done it successfully), BUT they do sometimes fight as well. Best to keep one alone. And don't mix them with tropical fish, as the betta will either get picked on, or it will pick on the other fish (bettas even pick on/get picked on by bottom feeding fish).

yup... plant the tank too... give her plenty of hidding spaces.
if you have a veil tail or crown tail or half moon male, he'll be too slow to chase the female anyway..

females are way faster and can run away. Obviously you're going to keep other fish in there too.. the male will be occupied with those guys... Refer to the web or here for the best tank mates.

In a tank that size they will not bother each other. I did it in a ten gallon tank and they never even nipped at each other. You will probably be able to put a couple more females in there, too.
They were in there for a year until I moved and I just never put them back in.
