I love oscars! I beleive that a 29 is too small even for 1. I had a jack dempsy that was a good buddy to my oscar and he was hand feedable. I find that most cichlids have that personality and can learn to be petted and hand fed. It just takes time and paitents! Good luck!

this would not paintings. the tiger barbs could nip the angelfish, and 2 pictus catfish is only too many for a 29 gallon tank. the two swordtails could choose to be the two the two women or a male woman pair, because of the fact 2 adult males could combat. and in case you will have angels, in case you have 2 identity propose no different fish. additionally, dont positioned your tiger barbs in communities any much less then 5 (identity reccomend plenty extra) or they're going to nip each fish, no longer only ones with long fins. is propose a million) 2 angelfish, thats it 2) 8 tiger barbs and a pictus 3) 3 swordtails and 6 tiger barbs yet there are various extra recommendations besides. stable success!

Oscars require large aquariums 55-60 gallons minimum fo a single specimen. In a small 29 gallon tank. Gouramis are known to show some character, as well as many other smaller cichlids, tough I wouldnt recommend petting them. You might want to look at this site to see what you like and if it fits as its easy to name species but it depends on what you like. http://www.aquahobby.com/e_gallery.php

First of all it's not a trust it's Classical Conditioning. All the fish in my 100 gal. tank swim to the spot where I always put the food and start eating as I'm putting it onto the surface of the water. They get conditioned to your hand means food. As far as the Oscar growing too fast, there are a lot of variables. How often you feed, and how much. But the biggest is how often you change the water and how much at each time. Fish have a chemical ( ammonia ) in their urine that they detect and this tells them how big or small their environment is, this is what will usually determine the size and rate of growth they experience.
