The angelfish is the only fish with the spots. I have never had ich before but I suspect this could be the problem. But if it is ich shouldn't ALL my fish be affected? .Also, I read that fluctuations in temperature can cause ich. I have noticed these spots after my heater quit in the tank and the temperature dropped severely a week ago. (From 80 to about 60) Luckily the fish survived and I have raised the temp back up. (it's at 77 and climbing) Please help..I need the advice of a fish pro.

When your temp drops below 70 a lot of times ich will develop on week fish. You may want to raise tank to 80, quarantine the fish in a seperate tank and treat only the fish with the ich problem if you see no other signs of it on other fish or in tank. Malachite green is the active ingredient in the medicines used to treat ich. A avriety of meds w this can be found in all pet stores ans some supermarkets. Good luck

You need to treat for ich. Some fish are more susceptible than others, and unusual stress will cause an outbreak. Ich can lie almost dormant in a tank until the fish become stressed and then it will break out.

I knew I had this bookmarked somewhere:

Fish may suffer from white spot disease, caused by a parasite. If there are white spots on your fish, you can buy a cure from most pet shops. The whole aquarium will need to be treated.

Hope this helps, speak to your pet shop or specialist fish shop to get advic e for the treatment. The others are likely to catch it if not treated.

Please see below link for where i got the info.

It is probably ICH ? I would try and isolate it from the others for awhile and see if you can cure it?keep the others from getting it and treat the tank!
