Hi,

How are you all to day?

As I had posted a short while back it was when I set the tank up, now I'm at the cycling point and would like some advice on this please?

The tank is a 10 gallon hex, I started with 4 small Zebra danios, The Ph did go up right away to 7.2 but it took a while for the Amania to go above 0. It finaly kicked in after a week, It didn't take long 2 fish died, I did a 20% water change the Amonaia is at about 0.25-0.50 I am doing the water changes every 3rd day as some sugested, but I think thats why the ph stays so high, Will adding fish drop the PH or should I ad some buuls eye 7.0??? What do you suggest? As I understood the Amonia will adjust on its own with time, Should I just keep on doing the water chages? Should I had 2-3 more wish? any ideas???

Thank all so much

Jack

I do feed them a pinch f tetra flakes every other day,

7.2 is fine for the Ph, don't add a thing to try and change that. When the Ph fluctuates is when it is harmful to fish, adding stuff to change it then when you do a water change it will just change right back.

Sorry about the deaths. If you Google "tank cycling" you'll find a number of charts that'll show you when it's safe to add more fish - sounds like your tank isn't quite ready yet. Let things stabilize in there and keep up with the water changes - good luck.

get a bunch of java ferns at the pet store...
live aquatic plants help with the water.
