You will need to empty the aquarium and repair it before the leak gets worse. The problem is either a crack, which will get bigger because of the weight of the water, or more likely it is old silicone sealant that is beginning to leak through, in which case the whole seam will begin to leak. These two web sites should help in repairing it.

Check with a shop that sells fish & equipment to find out how well & long sealant lasts. If it won't do the trick, I would recommend an acrylic aquarium. Not only are they beautiful but they can't leak! The only problem is the price but in the long run they're worth it. I once bought a glass one which leaked & I never bought a glass one again.

it will be necessary to empty the tank cut the sealer loose with a razor blade scraper clean the seams and use silicon sealer this is quiet a chore but with large tanks it is worthwhile and will save you a lot of money and no the tank will not "explode" but the leak may get worse or stop leaking entirely you can never tell

Make sure once you take the water, and everything out of it, you use special sealants that are meant for aquarium use. Otherwise, you might wind up with some harmful chemicals in your fish tank. Good luck.

take the fish and water out and repare it with aquarium sealant. The weight of the water and any vibrations might make it bigger, either way its not going to disappear by itself.
