i have a 2 and a half month old maltese and a 2 year old maltese. I have recently bought the 2 and a half month maltese and it seems to want to play with the 2 year old, but the 2 year old seems to keep barking and growling at the 2 half year old, should i let them be together, i now keep them apart by a fencing, or should i keep on separating them. PLEASE help. they both are females

I don't know what to do to stop my little Pomeranian dog from having erections. I also dont want to de-sex him mainly cause i think its wrong to do it. The only times it happens is when i first see it in the morning (0_0) and then it gets very excited and then some other times when I see him the next time after I get home from school. Does anyone have any ideas? I just dont like seeing it when he roles overand stuff.

I was looking at some breeders online for rottweilers (Not looking to buy, just curious) and found that several advertised breeders say that they do "protection work" with their dogs. They show photos of the dogs showing aggression and attacking people in padding. My question is if responsible and good breeders do this? Shouldn't such work with dogs be left to proffesional trainers and police, not the breeders of the dogs? Also, wouldn't this only teach the dog to be aggresive, and this unable to be a part of a family?

I adopted my dog from the local animal shelter awhile back, and today my husband and I began discussing if dogs knew that other dogs were euthanized there. We tend to think yes, since dogs can sense earthquakes and seizures. Any thoughts?

I just got a new English Mastiff puppy, who is now 12 weeks. I Have an 8 year old Golden also. My puppy constantly nips at my goldens neck, tail, and stomach. All my Golden does is snarl then run away. Im not sure if he's scared well scold him for bitting the puppy or what, but I hate watching it and I don't know what to do or why the puppy is doing it? I understand the whole "alpha" dog thing but shouldn't my 8 year old golden be more superior than my 12 week puppy?

She started limping so I took her to the vet. I found out she'd been spayed so I couldn't breed her. Then I called the breeder.

She wasn't very helpful but I finally found that the person had gotten my dog at an animal shelter. She gave me a pedigree and everything. Do you think the animal shelter gave her the pedigree? Do you think she just made it up that it was a Cavachon?

I paid 800 dollars for this dog. Do you think I should return it to the shelter?

My dog had her first litter 4 days ago. There were only 2 pups. Only one survived and seems to be doing well. Should I be worried that she had such a small litter? Mommy seems to be doing fine, I'm just worried since I thought she would have had more. She's a German Shepherd/Chow Mix. The daddy is a Scotty.

Can a vet spay a female dog when she is pregnant and kill all the puppy fetuses? This is something I've wondered about for a while.

And no I do NOT have a pregnant female dog that needs an abortion! Haha.

My dog (a year and a half old) does not do this everytime, but occasionally when we are on a walk he will act like he is starting to pee and then after having his leg raised a few seconds will swing his butt around and start pooping on this bush.

Is this normal?

Why would he being doing this?

Should I take him to the vet?
