you totally got ripped off.. a "cavachon" is a mixed breed dog. I do beleive its a cavalier and bichon mix. She's a mutt, and shouldnt be bred anyways.
Sounds like your "breeder" is adopting dogs at the shelter and then reselling them. I dont know how she got a pedigree for the dog, unless she made one up.. its not that hard to type up a pedigree for a dog.. it doesnt even have to be correct, just names on a paper. It may or may not be a "cavachon".. but that doesnt matter.. that isnt a real breed anyways, its a mix.
If you dont want the dog, you can return it to the shelter, but you will not get your money back.

You paid $800 for a mutt with fake papers and you bought her from someone selling her out of a department store parking lot. That's like buying organs on the black market...you're GOING to get burned EVERY time. You were taken for a ride and, quite frankly, you were asking for it.
Firstly, never ever buy a dog out of a parking lot. You should have been 100 times more picky and careful about picking a breeder...if the dog doesn't have some life-threatening disease or horribly expensive to treat medical condition you should consider yourself lucky.
Secondly, a "cavachon" is NOT a breed. It is a mutt, a mix between two different breeds, regardless of whether it was bred intentionally or accidentally. OBVIOUSLY this woman made up the "pedigree." (either she made it up completely or she paid some scam registry to make up fancy paperwork). No, the shelter did not give her the "pedigree" that she gave you. It's also quite likely that the dog you bought is not a "cavachon" and may not even have any king charles cavalier spaniel or bichon (the two breeds that greedy idiots breed to create a "cavachon") in her at all.
As for returning the dog, that's up to you. You obviously didn't do any research on dogs at all before buying one, so it may not be any real loss for the dog to go back to the shelter. If it is a small mixed breed it will probably find another home fairly quickly.
Please, for the love of dogs, do some real research next time before you buy. With the ride this woman took you on I'm not really sure you're educated enough to own a dog, let alone even consider breeding one.

I don't know what to you about getting a dog outside of Target. What on earth you bought a mutt outside of a store? You won't get a good quality dog when you got her at a place like that. I think the so called "breeder" just made up the pedigree or even the breeds of the dog. I don't know whether the shelter will take this dog or not since you didn't pay $800 to the shelter.
I hope you learn your expensive lesson. Also, you shouldn't just buy a female for breeding purposes, especially mixed breeds. Cavachon is a mutt of Cavaliar King Charles Spaniel and Bishon Frise. It's not a purebred.

I don't think the shelter will give you anything and a Cavachon is a mix and may have papers thru CKC and maybe the shelter did give her papers.
What are you tring to achieve? Are you trying to get your money back, the shelter owes you nothing but that woman does and since she misrepresented the pup as intact you are due a full refund, plus I'm betting the papers are fakes.
you can only reg a F1 dog thru CKC and thus she could never be used as a breeding animal I think. CKC is not considered all that valid anyhow, you may have to go to small claims court as there is a lemon law on dogs and you can get all your money and court fees let her know this and maybe she'll just give your money back, but you do have to return the dog to her not the shelter. If you give the dog away you'll have no case. You need to write down everything like what she claimed the dog to be and that it was going to be sold as a breeding animal ect, keep all records and try and get her address or license plate number because you have been scammed.
But I need to add you also did a foolish thing buying a dog like that, what would have happened if her number was a fake.

This is the most frustrating thing I come across in my work with rescue. You basically paid $800 for a mutt. A Cavachon, I'm guessing, is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. The offspring are just that, crosses. They are NOT able to be registered with the AKC, or any other major dog club. The pedigree was either forged or just false.
Major red flag... you got it outside Target?
Do everyone a favor. Pay the vet bills, be thankful she's already spayed, and keep her. There are so many dogs in shelters already, I'm pretty sure if you give her back to the "breeder," she'll just be another statistic.
And don't buy another "pure-bred" without doing EXTENSIVE research first.
Good luck with your baby, and although she was extremely expensive, congratulations on her.

If you know which shelter she got the dog from then you could always call them and ask if they provided her with the pedigree. It sounds pretty unlikely though, as your "breeder" doesn't sound reputable at all... I'm not sure why anyone would buy a "purebred" dog from someone hanging out outside Target.
Don't dump the dog at a shelter - you adopted her, now take responsibility for her. She may not be a purebred animal you can breed but she needs a home as much as any dog does.
I suggest you look into reporting this "breeder" and seeing if there are legal avenues you can pursue to getting your money back. Whether you can or not, learn from this experience and in the future only buy from reputable breeders that you have carefully investigated ahead of time.

Ok the problem is done and there is no turning back, Maybe you can do something about it. You said it's been spayed so there is a posibility you can trace the origin of the dog. Here in southern cali were I live they have a data bank were they keep track of the D.N.A of the dog from registered breeders, They do this to know where the dogs come from and to track down who is breeding with out any city permits in other words to keep control on the dog population. This way when they sell a dog with out being spayed they can track the breeder. So document and if posible record everything about your search and maybe you get somewhere or at least info or evidence for a small clain court. Good luck

There is NO SUCH BREED as a "cavachon". Only a backyard breeder or puppy mill will intentionally breed mutts (not "hybrids) just to slap a stupid name on them and sell them to naive suckers. Only complete moron would pay some dirtbag $2000-$3000 for a MUTT that can easily be adopted at any shelter for $50-$100. Puppy millers and backyard breeders can write anything on the internet to get people flocking to their product but what it boils down to is the fact that mutts are unpredictable. NO ONE can accurately predict the size, temperament, grooming needs, or health of a poorly bred MUTT. Also there are NO FACTS stating that a dog bred from two poorly bred purebred parents of different breeds will be healthy. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are one of the most unhealhy, frail and overbred breeds known to man. Poodles are so over bred and poorly bred that sickness runs through them too. Some mutt mixed with poor examples of both breeds will be nothing but a ticking time bomb.

WOW. I'm speechless. If they were selling pure bred mice, you'd probably buy it too, for $300, in a WalMart parking lot, of course.
I work for a humane Society, and NO. We do NOT give out papers. In fact, most of the dogs don't even COME with papers.
Sue the woman who sold you the dog. Take her to court, and love that dog, because it deserves a GOOD HOME like every other dog in this world. You can look at her as a blessing that she has come into your life. NO matter what happens, or how you feel, your dog will always be there for you. It was your mistake, and now you have to fix it. Don't fix it by giving her away, and if you already have, you should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm sure you were a victim of some unscrupulous flim flamer. BUT!!! don't take it out on the dog, she will love you no matter what you say, or do or look like. Her love is 100% un-conditional and will be a life long companion. If you are interested in becoming a breeder please look long and hard at what the laws are in your state. Dogs are not a puppy machines, please for the sake of a life don't do it just for the money.
If you want to invest in something try classic cars or precious metals. We already have far too many pets that need homes. Once they aren’t the cute little puppy any more and the reality of training them, keeping up on the shots and cleaning up the poop, they are driven out to the country and dumped.
In the long run she will be one of the best investments you have ever made.
