Anyone have a pit bull who gently holds your hand in her mouth, with no pressure? NOT a bite, and if you have something nasty to say about these dogs, go pick on a human you jerk. I really wanna know, this is the first time i've experienced this!

While walking home yesterday an odd little puppy followed me home the odd thing is that she is only about 9weeks old and has DUCT TAPE around his muzzle. I brought him to the vet to remove the duct tape and since he was dirty and skinny I fed him and gave him a bath. since he was so gentle my parents let me keep him. Later I was when I was on the computer I read about dog fighting and how they would use puppies and small dogs as bait. Now I think there might be illegal dog fighting in my neighborhood. If I am seen with their bait that got away they might track my house down. The reason they might do this is because they might get caught they might think that I somehow got him and took him away which reveals that I know where they are.

Does it mean high quality?
Does it mean that your dog is a good example of his breed?
Does it simply mean that it is known that your dog is purebred?

Seriously - I want to know. All these people - especially as we approach Christmas time - are talking about breeding their AKC registered dogs. I want to know - what does AKC mean when it comes to breeding? Does it really mean quality? Good temperment? Good conformation?

Does your dog being AKC registered automatically mean you have the "go ahead" to breed your dogs?

My aunt has a long-haired chihuahua, he is about 6 years old. He had fleas and was given the flea bath medication. My aunt says he got a bit scabby but she put baby oil on him and his skin got better and she is "sure" the fleas are gone. But now he is rubbing his back/side on her wooden chair and his hair is falling out a lot. He has had no changes in his diet (which might suggest an allergic reaction), what else could be wrong with him??? Thanks!

p.s I know "take him to the vet" is the right answer, which is what I would do if it were my dog but it isn't :P

And why do people get powerful breeds (mastiffs, rotties, pits) if they don't have the adequate home/lifestyle/leadership? And why don't people spay and neuter their dogs? If they aren't show dogs you have NO reason not to! Don't breed your dog because it's "cute"! You have NO right to when hundreds of dogs die in shelters every day! Why as humans have we let dogs down so much? Look at the shelters if you don't believe me...

My puppy, Baloo, already knows not to poop or pee inside the house during the day, because we keep the door open for him. He only does it inside sometimes. The problem is that at night he pees and poops normally in a little area in his room, he doesn't know he's supposed to hold it until the morning like he should, and I don't know how to teach him. We do not want to put him into a cage, whatever it takes to not have to put him into a cage. What have you done with your dog?

if you go into the bathroom without her, she goes into this panic, and will sit there scratching the door.

if she does manage to make it in there, she just sits there and watches us.

it's weird, does anyone else's dogs do that

I already called the vet and asked if they were supposed to give me something for him but they said no. Two other vets said that they can see him after the weekend and then give him something but he is suffering now and will hardly move from the couch. His appetite is fine as long as I bring it to him. I cant even get him to go outside for a bathroom break. He wants to lick that spot alot and he's a bit restless. He is a large 72lb lab and about 2 years old. It was Tuesday night and today is Saturday already.

I have a 5 month old rat terrier/papillion puppy. Last night he was playing with another puppy and lept off the couch chasing her. next thing I know, he's squeeling at the top his little lungs and won't touch his hind left leg to the ground. every time he tries to put weight on it, it hurts him. I called the vet, and she said it could either be a sprain or a fracture and that it would take about 4-6 weeks to heal. I don't know if I should take him in or not? And what I could do to help him with the pain? It just breaks my heart to see him hurt! It hasn't even been 24 hours yet, I'm just freaking out a little bit.... any helpful ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you!
