I have a female Lhasa Apso/terrier mix, she's about 5 years old, and yesterday, she started limping. When she walks, she favors her right front paw and holds it off the ground completely when she runs. As far as I know, she hasn't had anything happen to her recently that might cause this. I felt her leg and as far as I can tell nothings broken. I also checked her paw for cuts, thorns, glass, etc. and found nothing. What could be wrong with her? She's never had anything like this happen before. Please don't tell me to take her to the vet, I plan on it if she's not better tomorrow. Thanks.

One of my dog's ears seems a bit red on the inside and I think it might have a little bit of odor(or maybe I'm crazy) that is a bit different from his other ear. Is there an easy way to tell if this is an ear infection and if it is, can they normally be treated with an over the counter medication?

I have a Jack Russell about 3 months old. For the first few weeks of owning him, he would barely eat his dry food. I would give him the required amount according to the directions on the bag, and when I get back from work, he would barely touch it. I bought a few cans of wet food, and he eats the whole can right away, no matter what time of day I give it to him. I then tried mixing the two together, and he would let it sit there. I tried buying different brands of dry food, anything from grocery store to Healthy pet store food. He does not like it. Should I just go with wet food from now on, and just give him chew bones for his teeth?

I have a 4y.o rescue staffy x, he lives out side so crate training isn't really an option , he has free roam of the backyard along with the other dogs. We have a deck and concrete pool area and a backyard with mulch/bush/grass. I want him to poo in the backyard area but he always goes on the concerete or deck. I've tried getting angry and taking him and the poo to the yard but that hasn't helped and he goes during the night so i can't take him down in the morning and make sure he poos there because he already has. He has 24hour access to the yard...the other dogs poo there.. why not him? and what can I do?

My 12 year old shepered mix died today . He was fine this morning and than later today i found him lying on his side , trouble breathing with a blue tongue . We tried to rush him to the vet , but he died on the way there . It was terrible . What could have been the cause ? Maybe just old , or heart attack , or what ?

My sister's dog is a pug and about 7 months old. She moved in with me and the dog has pooped on my bed, ruined multiple pairs of shoes, peed on my bed, pees on my dog's bed that my dog lets him sleep on with her, peed on my blanket and chewed a hole in it. The first couple of weeks he had a couple of accidents and the poop on the bed incident happened and he chewed on shoes but things seemed to settle down for a month or so(i kept my shoes out of the way.) Then he started attacking my belongings and has started to pee on my sister's things.
He has never been a dog to let you know when he needs to go out so we have to walk him very often so he happens to be outside when he goes. This is okay but I think there should be a way to have the dog let you know(my dog makes it clear when she has to go.)
I think this might have something to do with the fact that since the weather has turned cold she doesn't crate him anymore and lets him in the bed.I need some advice to go to my sister with

We recently got a new dog (a 1 1/2 year old kelpie who is a big wuss) and our original dog has been acting funny. She's fine most of the time but when it comes to food she won't let him eat. It's not that she eats it all or anything like that. She usually leaves hers and goes and bullies him away from his by doing this preditor stare thing. So then he skulks away and won't dare go near it. It can sit there all day until she feels like it. Same with bones, she won't touch hers but she steals his and hoards it. I have to keep her away until he's finished eating now so he doesn't starve.
I just want to know if anyone has had a similar experience, what I can do to break this awful habit, and if it is normal or she is just weird. She is a staffie, just over 1yo. She's a beautiful pet apart from that.

Last night my Dachsund was in my sons room and was laying under his comforter for about an hour sleeping. Then she suddenly jumped up and off the bed, her back legs were like jelly and she was shaking all over. She wouldn't lick us and acted like she was stroking out. After about 30 minutes of this unusual behavior, we let her outside to see if she needed some air and she had a bowel movement right there in the flower bed which is totally something she has NEVER done before. She then walked around the yard trying to get her bowels to move again, really weird, then about an hour later she ate two small bowls of her dog food. Could she have had a seizure or what?

I rescued a boxer puppy that is 16weeks old and ways 10lbs. How can I get him to gain more weight and get him back to a healthy weight. I went to the vet today after just saving him yesterday at 00:00am CDT. The checkup came back great he has no medical conditions except his head tilts alittle. This is my third boxer. I have a female thats 10months (eats adult large breed Purina One), a male thats 7months (eats adult large breed Purina One), and now the little pup that is only 16weeks (eats purina one puppy and also 1cup of puppy gold formula from Petco). Is there anything else I can do to help him have a better chance at surviving? Since he is a pup he does sleep alot but is very active when I am outside with him. Please help me if you can, even if its suggestions about different foods, formula, etc....

Well, if any of you remember my last question, I said my dad told me that my dog had body bugs. My dad had no clue what he was saying as usual. He had no idea what the bugs actually were. All he heard was "bugs under the skin" and I don't think he cares about the type. He does love Pepper (dog), because he's doing his best to treat him with daily medication and expensive treatments, so I'm not too mad. That's just my father and I accept it, BUT I had to take some intiative. I tried calling the vet and asking him, what it was. My dad got upset, though, beause he thought it would cost more. I think he used his charismatic personality to get a reduction on the price from the secretary, and he didn't want the doctor to know what she did. I told him to ask the vet on my dog's follow up, but he forgot!!! They said his hair was very close to falling out, so I'm assuming it's mange mites ...What do you think? What can I do? How do I treat the area that he lays in while in the house?!?

Does showing dogs win good money? And if I kept one pup from every litter, should it be the best male, or the best female? And about how much does winning a dog show earn? Would winning help you sell puppies better?

How much does raising an average litter of puppies, as well as the mother test costs, sire costs, vaccinations and wormings, and average food and other stuff usually cost? For one litter. And how many litters a year can a female safely have? And about how much money would you get from selling all the pups except one that I'd keep?

Ok, I've heard that you should breed out of love, but not even love makes we want to lose all my money and live in a box on the street for a dog. Do you think I should get a job where I can work from home so I can be with the dogs and not go broke? Or is there a particular dog that earns good money?
