once a month is plenty. you must remove every tangle BEFORE you wash or the smallest tangle will become so large, you'll have to CUT it out. blowing it dry while brushing will give you that fluffy beautiful look

You can bathe your poodle as often as once a week. Using a raised tub with a non-slip mat will make the experience more pleasurable for you both. To start, use warm water to soak your dog’s coat to the skin.
Since poodles are water dogs they naturally shed water so it might take some effort to get the coat completely wet. You can use a mild dog shampoo to bathe your poodle.
Make sure to rinse the shampoo out of the dog’s coat thoroughly. Any leftover residue can be irritating to the dog’s skin. After your poodle’s bath you can let the dog air dry for a curly look, or brush out the hair while blow-drying to give the coat a smooth and fluffy look.

They may be right, but I once had a toy poodle, and my groomer told me not to wash him more then once a week. Two weeks was about the most I could go, since he was solid white and very active. Why don't you call a local groomer and ask their opinion? Maybe they could shed some light on it for you.

As long as you are using a high quality shampoo with the proper pH you should do fine. Always make sure you comb out all tangles before the bath and after. If you get a dog wet before combing, it is next to impossible to get the tangles out.
If it is the odor of the dog you are trying to shampoo away, they make excellent dog colognes to use inbetween groomings.

Washed mine good whenever i got them a haircut. But also washed them when they looked like they needed it.Never hurt them or their hair or skin.Ask a vet to be sure but i don't see why it would be any different then any other dog breed.

My general rule is to give mine a bath when he starts to smell, which tends to be in the 6 week range.
