Anyone have a pit bull who gently holds your hand in her mouth, with no pressure? NOT a bite, and if you have something nasty to say about these dogs, go pick on a human you jerk. I really wanna know, this is the first time i've experienced this!

Brad you are scum. You made that up and the fact you would wish aids on the mother of two young children and countless families is repulsive. Go live your lonely little alcoholic life.

I own 2 Pits and it sounds like she sees you as a possession. Like a dog will grab it's toy and not let go or share. It can go two ways, either she'll hold your hand just for the sake of holding or she will be come very possessive of you to another person and that won't be a good thing. You didn't mention her age or her temperament, that would have helped more.

My brother has a pit and he is the sweetest most gentle dog I have ever met. As much as I love him Im too scared to put my fingers in his mouth even though I know he would never do anything. But my shih tzu does the same thing, it kinda tickles.

Yeah my girl does this whenever she's just really happy and relaxed. She will lick my hand a couple of times and then just gently hold my fingers or hand in her mouth for a second. I always feel like it's her version of hugging me since she only does it when she's just so happy she doesn't know what else to do.

My pit bull doesn't do this. I have taught her since I adopted her that putting her mouth on people is not allowed. So she doesn't. But I have known other dogs of other breeds who do this. It is not scary or anything, I guess they are just using their mouth to feel you, because they don't have hands.

This reminds me of the movie White Fang. Jack was playing with White Fang outside, and his friend Alex looked out the window and saw the wolf dog's mouth around Jack's arm. Alex came running out with his shot gun, ready to shoot the dog. But Jack said "No, Stop! Look, he won't hurt me." Then he put his arm in White Fang's mouth, and the dog just touched him with his teeth, using no pressure.

i've had pitt bulls all my life, and think they are the best breed of dog there is. i've had several who like to nibble or "mouth" my hands. no biting, just playful nibbles. i even wrote a letter in response to an article in people magazine that was downing the breed. of course they wrote back a big apology.

Remember, dogs communicate with their mouths. Your pit is probably just trying to tell you that he (or she) loves you.

And congrats on not being prejudice toward a breed! I have worked with MANY pits at the Humane Society I volunteer at. They are truly wonderful dogs!

It's a normal show of affection, but what doesn't hurt now may develop into something more if you're not careful. Never allow a puppy to do something you wouldn't allow a full-grown dog to do. Pit bulls are very kind and loving dogs if they are properly trained. If you're not willing to put forth the effort to train your dog, get a fish.

yes i have 3, and the youngest female, as a greeting ,will take the forearm and hold it in her mouth for a few when we've been out and return. no pressure from the dog just her way of saying where ya been and did ya bring me anything.

yes my pitbull Angel does that.. It's so cute. Angel does that while we are playing or if she wants attention. I know exactly what you are talking about. also she'll do it with just my finger in her mouth.

Hey jerkoff.. Pitbulls can be the sweetest dogs in the world if they have a good owner! It's not the breeds fault that they are misused. If you train them the right way (the way all dogs should be trained) then they are not a problem.
