why do people in this catagory give more thumbs down than most other catorgorys?

seriously ive seen people get 8 thumbs down for a correct answer, whats wrong with everyone?

im giving everyone one a thumbs up btw :)

Maybe because people don't know as much about dogs, therefore they mark whichever thumb they want to.

Either that or people just randomly click on the thumbs down button. It could be the answer's attitude that bothers them, or some people might just give thumbs down for fun.

A lot of fanatical dog people on here that are very set in their ways and if anyone disagrees they get a thumbs down.

Just politics. I just think its funny.

Alot of people dont do their research so they are convinced they are right and give thumbs down on the person that is REALLY right.

Its called being close minded :)

Go to any category and you'll find that perfectly decent answers get thumbs down. Some categories do seem to be affected more than others but it is common practise for some people to systematically go through YA and be objectionable. Unfortunately the system Yahoo uses is not foolproof and is open to those who get pleasure out of, anonymously, upsetting some people. Take it all with a pinch of salt and don't get upset about it. Continue enjoying YA coz it is a minority trying to spoil things for the majority......xx

Everyone has an opinion. Dog people are usually more opinionated than some of the other categories. There is a group of pro shelter adoption here who will thumbs down and berate you if you even discuss purchasing any mixed breed and sometimes purebred dogs. They are very concerned (rightly so) about pets ending up homeless and in shelters.
Sometimes people feel so strongly about their mission that they cannot see the problem they are creating with their opinion. They remind me of religious zealots who accept only people who attend their church and believe their doctrine.

I've notice that to, but I suppose it's a touchy subject 'pet'.

We all have our opinion and it's normally said from the heart, but some people think it's wrong or it doesn't meet their standards shall we say.

I normally only give thumbs down when its a silly 1 or 2 word answer.

I give very knowledgeable answers and advice. Yet I have several thumbs down fairies who follow me around giving thmbs down to almost everything I post. Some people that do this are kids, some are just jerks without a good reason other than they are just jerks. People have their own agendas.

Because bad advice regarding dogs deserves to be seen and known as bad advice. Advising someone asking whether or not it is okay to breed at one year of age that it IS indeed okay, that my friend is bad advice!!
Saying to someone who is asking for a better food that Science Diet that Purina is GREAT, that is also terrible advice!

These types of answers all deserve tons of thumbs downs!!

It is bad enough people ask such questions about their dog's health or wellbeing instead of consulting their vets.

I think it is like that in a lot of sections. Religion and Spirituality and Politics are very bad about this too. It is just because people are passionate about their pets, and their believes. Everyone has a strong opinion on what they feel is right.

For some reason people here give thumbs up or thumbs down to indicate if you agree with their opinion or not. Has nothing to do with right or wrong.

I mean when someone gets a thumbs down because they like 'x' dog food and you like 'y' dog food,, come on!!
If you ask 'z' neither one of you are right.

i guess because people are really sensitive in this category. if they dont like the way you answer a question, theyll thumbs down you. i even got reported for saying i was gonna enter my dog in a pet fshion show! just because my dog likes to wear clothes doesnt mean i dont love him! jeez ppl!!!!I mean ill probably get thumbs down on my response for this.
