I have two dogs, when I brought the 2nd one home the cat adopted her and was her first friend, and not the other dog I had already in the house. I think if you can expose your dog to a kitten or other cats that are dog friendly he'll get over it to some degree. He may have been swatted with the claw and is now just really afraid of being hurt.

That is funny visual! Ha ha. Well you could borrow some kittens. Kittens are usually non-scary and you could let her sniff them. There are also a lot of cats that like dogs because they grew up with them. Ask at a shelter if they have any dog-friendly cats and if you could let your dog see them.

You can also look at it this way: it is a lot better that your dog is scared of cats than if your dog wants to kill them. If you had a mean cat killing dog and it injured somebody's pet you could be in big trouble! So maybe it is a good thing your dog runs away from cats.

nope. i understand your situation though. My dog got clawed in the nose by a cat as a puppy. And now he wont even step outside when there is a cat. He has the same problem with mice.

LOl.. all dogs are I think. It's either the dog scared of the cat or vise versa.. It's natural. When you look at flyers that advertise with a cat and dog sitting together, either they're used to it, trained or the owner's just lucky theres nothing you can do

well can you blame him? cats after all, ARE pretty intimidating. lol
I mean, dogs only have their teeth as their defense, and in order to bite, they need to put their face near their opponent...WITHOUT getting scratched!!!

Someone was previously seeking for a gay dog here.

Maybe you could sell it to her.
