well golden retrievers are really hard to train since they are so big, but this is a way that i trained my dog to stop jumping. well i first took my dad away from people so it's just you and the dog, and i bought a treat bag(for when he/she listens to you). to teach it to sit you have to give it a very stern look (just like a human) and tell him sit. if he doesn't listen you could try the softer way. take a treat and put it in front of his face but don't let him get to it. follow the treat down, if he follows with his head then try pushing his tush down. adn when he jumps on you yell down and either move away or gently push him away. when he moves away after you tell him to(without your push) give him a treat. he'll learn better this way.
hopefully this helps :]

First of all, I would get some weight off him. 90 lbs. is way too high for a pup of his age and if you don't get that weight off him now it will be harder as he gets older. His joints will be affected and also his heart later on in life if he is overweight. The ideal weight for a Golden is around 74 lbs. for a Dog and 60/66 lbs. for a Female.
Cut down his daily ration by a third now and cut out the amount of treats you give him. You should see a big difference in a couple of weeks.
Regarding jumping on people, as he lunges towards you, just fold your arms accross your chest and don't give him any eye contact whatsoever as you walk in the door. He will keep pestering but you have to be persistent and keep turning round away from him and ignore him. Once he has calmed down tell him what a good boy he is and then give him a small treat.
Try and give him more exercise and enrol him in a Training Class. This will stop him from being so hyper. He is evidently very excited to see you when you come home from school but a dog of this size is very powerful and really needs controlling before he gets out of hand.
Good luck with him. There is nothing like a Golden, especially a well behaved one!

i work at a doggy camp.. i know the look of a dog's face if they are about to jump on me and so once i see them, i stand my ground and say a firm 'no'... maybe even have my hand in the way of their jump.
some people block jumps with their knee, but it's sometimes hard if it's a big dog and they will just knock your balance...
take him to a doggy trainer.. i think that's the best you can do.

Please don't block his jump with your knee, you can hurt him. Check out Cesar Milan the Dog Whisperer. Here he's on the National Geographic channel @ 2 PM or pick up his book at the store or library. He's really good in all areas of dog behaviour. Good luck, love those retrievers!

you may desire to play with him. domestic dogs are very lively, they might desire to take transport of a lot of interest. Take him for a stroll, run around in the backyard with him, tire him out. If he's nippy, supply him some toys to bite on. he's in all probability additionally no longer chuffed approximately merely having the laundry room to cling out in. Why isn't he allowed interior something of the residing house? he's a domestic dog, he ought to be getting used to his environment and the kin, that's an incredible time for him to be bonding with all and sundry. domestic dogs additionally might desire to be knowledgeable, you may not yell at him and function him comprehend what you like. effective reinforcement is the final thank you to coach a domestic dog. regrettably, you sound like a bad proprietor who has a lot to income, i desire you may in a short quantity of time. he can't be a domestic dog consistently, quickly you have got an entire grown, poorly knowledgeable canines- and it merely isn't his fault.

Put him in a dog training class. Call the ASPCA or SPCA (depending on which one is located in the city where you live( and ask if they can recommend where you can take your dog for obedience training.
