He is normally fed 3 small meals a day and is due to be fed at 9.30am. His appointment is 11am. I have tried calling the vets to ask them but the phone is constantly engaged. Any ideas on what to do for the best? Cheers.

I've got this mini pinscher that is so lovely and oh soooo sweet. But i've got this big problem with him, everytime i leave him with my other dog, he wrecks stuffs around the house, chews the sofa, telephone directories, plastics, rubber etc. So, would anybody pls., teach me how to train him for obedience or should i just put him on a leash or a dog cage?

I have 2 that like to go outside, but inside too. I do not believe in crating them, they have the run odf the house. I am here most of the day, but they can be outside for an hour...then come in and pee. If tried treats when they go outside (and I see them) and they get no treats when they go in the house. What other suggestions are there?

I am a young person and unfortunately cannot have a dog of my own, so I have started a dogwalking business. My rates are $5 per dog per hour and I will take any size or breed of dog. I can also bath, feed and or play with your dog. Let me know if you are interested!

now i want to SEE your doggy hair cuts! :)
i have a maltese who has very bad skin problems and as i live in the tropics it's better to have his hair cut short so his skin doesn't flair up again.
but we thought we'd have some fun if he already has to be cut short! so he now has a mohawke with a schnauzer beard! he looks a bit like MR.T!! :)
what kind of hair cuts do your dogs have!? if possible with pics so i can maybe give my boy a new cut as his hair is getting a bit longer! thanks!

He puts his feet inbetween the plastic bars & lifts himself out.. How can I stop him? I thought the pen was high enough, but didn;t think he'd figure out he can climb out.. What can I do? If he runs around, he chews up cords etc.. I don't want to keep him caged in a small cage, which is why I bought the puppy pen.. Help. I tried using duct tape but he just chewed it off.

Hey,
My dog is a 10 lb LhasaPoo and we've been keeping him outside, because we haven't had the time to Crate Train him. I'm gone most of the time on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and quite a bit on Sunday. Would it work to train a dog half of the week, and then let him be outside the other half?
We've been keeping him outside because he's stayed in our yard 100%, but it's getting colder an he's going into the neighbors yard -- we've seen them CHASING him down the street, and it upsets us, so we want to potty-train him, so he can stay inside. However, I can't be home all the time to potty-train him, so will it work to only train him half the week? *like I alreayd asked*

Also, are ther any other methods of training a dog, that would be more convenient to our situation?

PS - I wasn't expecting this to happen when I got him -- so don't call me irresponsible..

Please don't give me cliche mexican names or everyday max, fluffy, buddy, etc. names. I want to name him something that not every other dog would come to in the park. Thanks

My dog has a problem with her lungs and recently it has started acting up very badly. She is breathing very quickly and she can only breathe if she is sitting up with her head up in the air to get a clear passage to her lungs. She can't lay down or she starts coughing. The vet says we have to wait for her to naturally drain the fluid from her lungs, so it will take some time. She hasn't slept for 3 days though, and she doesn't eat anything she only drinks. Is there a way that I can make her comfortable enough while sitting up so that she can still breathe but she is able to lean and possibly finally get some sleep? Please help any idea is appreciated.

I've finally made the decision after months of searching to get a Pembroke Welsh Corgi... but need some help in terms of a head start on where to look. I've tried some classified ads online and am not willing to buy a pet out of this area and having it shipped to CA. Any help is much appreciated on sites/breeders/contacts in/around the bay area. Thank you!

my staffy loves to eat grass. I have always thought that they did it to make them selves sick but this is not the case with my dog. It never makes her sick and she eats it every day. Could she be lacking something in her diet or do you think she just likes the taste?

Some nights both of our dogs will be just staring at the ceiling. There is no shadow, I don't see any light reflecting, both of my dogs will start to growl. I heard that dogs have this "ghost" sense or something. Is it really true?

I have a dog, i was told that he is a german shepard lab mix, but he seems rather small for that particular mix. Anyway, he is almost constantly whining, he whines when he wants somthing, but that whine is more pronounced, its a louder whine, but other times he will be walking around and he will whine its not very loud but he is almost always doin it, when he lays down he whines for awhile then he will fall asleep, no matter what you do he will whine, and if you just ignore him, than he stops. Why is my dog always whining, by the way he is about 5 months old.

You see my boyfriend and I have been keeping two of my parents dogs for the last week. But we came home and found that the big one bit the little one on the head. I took her to the vet and he said that she had a broken jaw and could wire it shut to fix it, but it's expencieve. Here is the problem... My parents never intended to keep the little dog, she's a bit active, they were going to take her to the pound. But now that this has happened I don't want them to do that. So my boyfriend and I are thinking of keeping her. So I was just wondering can a broken jaw heal itself? We both have bills to pay and I can't afford to fix her jaw right now but I don't want her to go to the pound either.

you guys said i dont deserve my dog and the im neglecting it??

actually i only leavin in the backyard for 4 hours and hes not on a leash, when i come home from school i let him inside and he jumps on me and hes happy, but then after i play with him he stands near the front door because he wants to go out. i try to play with him more but he goes back to the front door. somtimes when my mom opens the door he runs out and after like 1 hour he returns or i go and look for him and when he see's me he runs towards me and when i put him on a leash he bites on it on rips it, thats why i leave him with no leash in the backyard. i do walk him about every 2 days.

When i try to train her at all i try to reward her with treats, we have had her for going on 3 days now and i have gone nowhere without her, i want her to know that i am not only her master but a friend and i mean love not pain. I think she was being raised as a fighter, and the previous owners couldnt get her to do what they wanted so i am trying really hard to get her to eat healthy getting her back on dog food has been interesting but accomplished. she is great with my kids, but for what reason would she not take treats? i have never had a dog that would not take treats. all different kinds none the less. She will not listen to my commands, and i dont feel i am completing my attempt to train her unless i give her treats after she does something correct. any input on different treats or different ways to train a boxer dog? would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
