30 weeks pregnant? Why is her husband even talking of leaving? Tell him to grow some balls and be a man. I don't care WHAT his logic is...30 weeks pregnant is not the time to leave your spouse. He participated just as much as she did in creating the child she's carrying, so tell him to grow some balls.
As for the dog, any new foods he's had? Are there any worms present?

Diarrhea can be a symptom of so many different things, it's pretty difficult to tell what the problem is without veterinary help.
However, if the dog doesn't have any other symptoms (such as vomiting, lethargy etc.), and this hasn't been going on for more than a day or so, it could be that he's got into something he shouldn't and it's upset his stomach.
It's possible for a dog to develop an intolerance or allergy to a food that he's been eating for a long time, or to be sensitive to a new dog food. Has there been any changes in his diet?
The main problem with diarrhea is the dehydration it causes, this is far more dangerous to the dog than lack of food. In cases of minor diarrhea due to upset stomach etc. it's a good idea to withhold food for 24 hours to allow the dog's tummy to settle down. Then try feeding him some plain boiled rice as his first meal. Gradually reintroduce his food and hopefully the diarrhea will be over.
But, if he the diarrhea is severe, prolonged or he has other symptoms he needs to see a veterinarian. He could get very ill otherwise.
I hope your friend manages to work this out, sounds as though she has a lot to deal with right now. Best of luck.

Is her husband leaving because of the dog???
Well, this only treats the symptom and not the root of the problem but go to the grocery store and buy a big can of canned pumpkin. Feed canned pumpkin to the dog until the diarrhea lets up. Not pie filling, it has seasonings in it, just plain pumpkin.
Has the dog had this problem since it was a pup? If so, it is probably a food allergy. I have a dog that we tested and tested for things trying to determine why she continually had diarrhea. I finally put her on a vegetarian dog food. The diarrhea stopped. I then just slowly experimented with different meats to see what she could eat. She can eat nearly any red meat but poultry gives her diarrhea immediately. I have to buy a very high quality food for her to get one that doesn't include chicken or turkey in the ingredients but she hasn't had diarrhea since we took the culprits out of her diet.

Labs are notorious for eating things they shouldn't. Trying canned pumpkin Or boiled white rice are good ideas. You can also try calling a veterinarian to see if they can recommend any over the counter medications, and give you a dose. Do Not give him any medication until you call your veterinarian. You will want to make sure he is on a high quality diet. But you don't want to switch him too suddenly, as this would make his diarrhea worse. You want to switch gradually, adding small amounts of the new food first, then gradually adding more.
It really would be best if she could take him in to the vet. But if she REALLY can't afford it, just make sure the dog doesn't get dehydrated. Make sure he doesn't develop any other symptoms, make sure he is eating and drinking normally. You can give him ice cubes and Popsicles to keep him hydrated.

My first thought is that she has the dog on a chicken based diet.
It has been my experience that while some labs will not retain their weight on a Lamb based diet, others will have a loose stool on a chicken based diet. She might even have to experiment a bit to find a proper balance between the two.

If you have a dog you MUST accept financial responsibility for taking this precious dog to the Vet. Long term diarrhea can be life threatening to an animal.
