She is an eight year old cavalier. I phoned an emergency pet number for advice but he said that because she seems bright, not dehydrated or lethargic, happy and is eating, that it will be OK to wait until the morning to take her when surgery opens. I am really worried because it was so bad, I could only describe it as being a bloodbath - it was everywhere and I could see no brownish colour - just red and loads of it. I had to have my other dog Smudge put to sleep a few months ago and the last thing I want now is to have the same happen. I cry myself to sleep most nights and am not ready yet for it to happen again. I got told that this was probably inflammation of the bowel and can be treated. Is this the most likely reason, and will she be ok? He said it could have been something else very serious (I forgot the name), but as she is fully vaccinated, it can't be. Do I need to be prepared for the worst? I need to know. Thanks for reading this xx

It has gone down and is almost gone, but now he has bumps inbetween his shoulders, on his head, between where his front arms are, on the top of his butt a little before where his tail starts, and other places. Last night my dad put "Frontline Plus for Dogs" on him inbetween his shoulders, but we put it on our other two dogs, and nothing happened. Also, we live in Florida and there are toads and these BIG brown/tan slimey frogs and i have heard that id a dog ate one of then it could really hurt them, but nothing (but what I have said) bad has been happening.

i adopted a four year old pomeranian that turned out to be pregnant which is okay withe me. I hve found homes for all but i am thinking of giving her away or putting her up for adoption. it has been hell trying to potty train her she hasnt learned anything is she too old to learn? my moms really tired of stepping on her pee or finding her poop everywere i tell my mom to be patient but she is far from that she keeps pressuring me to teach her i'm trying my best, my pomeranian would be ideal if she could just learn where to go. I don't want to give her up but i dont see it getting any better. my mom tells me i should just put it up for adoption and get one of the puppies...the question is should I?

Is there a law against breeding dogs???? Just wondering why all the negativity about people who do. I guess everyone is technaclly a backyard breeder so to speak right? I have kennels for my two dogs and I take them to the vet regularly, I now have puppys for sale and thought I would place an ad on here i did not know you were not alloud to but everyone must need a nerve pill today or something cause omg i voilated a rule. My dogs are akc registered adn i did just recently have my dogs both checked for hp but have not heard anything from yet. The breeder where i purchaced my dog had a site on the internet that is how i found my pet, so what is wrong with selling animals on the net???????? No i will not just sell the pups to just anyone, SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM ?????????????? oh by the way i really dont care if i misspelled some words.

My 8 month old great dane has been to the vet 2x.. once when we got her in may, and just about a month ago. The 1st time we ran blood samples, and they said she was anemic. She's pretty skinny, and sometimes I'm afraid people will think I'm starving her!! Just want to see if anyone else had this problem, and whether their danes (or other breed) grew out of it when they stopped growing so darn fast. That's what the vet said would probably happen..

I've started watching Ceasar Milan on the dog whisperer and noticed that he always has a leash/collar that just slips over the dogs head so you don't have to worry about having a collar on or clipping the leash on. The one he uses looks almost like a Noose but I'm assuming it is designed differently so it does not choke the dog. I looked on his website and the only leash on there is not the one that is used on the show. Does anyone know a website that I could find the noose style leash he uses on his show? Thank you

im trying to crate train my puppy right now but it whines and barks for 30 minutes and i cant help but to cave in. i know consistency is key but he sounds like he hates it and so i cant help but to let him out.
and whenever i take him out to pee he refuses to use the leash. he also refuses to pee. i dont want to drag him because that would be cruel... what do i do? this puppy isnt listening to me or my orders!

My 7 month old Dandie has just been diagnosed with demodectic mange and will soon be under the vet's care. Now, I just read online that it can be contagious, how can I stop it from getting on my Chad? What can I buy? Please help.

I worked everything out. I payed the adoption fee, and now I think my dad may have been right. Maybe this dog wasn't for me. I'm actually slightly allergic to dogs, but we have a poodle.. so I figured if this dog was part poodle it'd work out. Come to find out this dog doesn't have any poodle in him at all. So he's making me itch, and making my head hurt and fill with nasty. What do I do? I know I need to tell them.. but how? "Oh Dad, by the way, you were so right. I AM allergic to him. He IS too young for me, oh and yeah, I don't have the time to deal with a puppy."

HELP! =/

I would like to hear of other people's stories who have gone through this experience. Days leading up to and after. Did you get a full litter? Did you have to hand rear any? Any thoughts and ideas that would benefit. I have read various articles on this subject but would also like to hear it first hand from you.

We move about every two years and are wondering if we will have to retrain our dog each time we move. She is used to the wireless fence where we are and has the freedom to run but know when to stop. We really like the fence but not the training part!

My Shitzu is 11 months old. We have a big backyard where she goes to eliminate, but the area she likes to go is with a tall vegetation with some poison Ivy (we kill them as much as it is possible though.... they come back too fast). 2 months ago she started to scratch and bite her left back leg too much that called my attention. Now, the hair (that was white) is pink, due to constant licking and she has rashes and some scabs only on that leg, no hair loss though.
I took her to the vet last week, but he did not do any exam and prescribed her Benadryl and an antibiotic cause he thinks it can be allergy. I changed her food, and i've been giving the medicines with no change AT ALL on her situation. The antibiotic will end tomorrow and I will return to the vet.
Does anyone have any idea about what it could be or about what I should ask the vet to do.
Thank you!!

I am moving to France next year, and there are passing a series of laws against the so-called "dangerous" dogs (sigh)
one of my dogs is a mutt (lab/boxer/pointer) but could have pitbull in her as well (1/4)
based on this law, she will be required to wear a muzzle each time I take her out in public (walks) (mix breeds as well)

I cannot imagine putting this on my dog because she is the best behaved dog I ever had, and it seems so unfair. + she loves to sniff around, and is very sweet (just looks scary to some people: lab face but the body of a pointer/boxer)

My best friend volunteered to adopt her from me so my dog won't have to deal with those stupid French laws. I don't know.
IS wearing a muzzle that bad? will my dog be miserable on walks ? (1-2 hours a day - one hour morning - one hour night + small walks in between)
Is that enough a reason to let her stay here?
She is my favorite dog (i love my border collie too) but my mutt is my favorite of the favorites.

I took my two dogs in for a grooming at 9 this morning. One is a bichon frise, the other, a maltese. The maltese was a matted mess (she's a puppy) but my bichon just needed a trim, no knots. It is now almost 3 in the afternoon, and they're still not done. I'm worried. Why does it take so long, what do they do?
Thanks in advance
