They give their head a shake and then peek through the fur. Kinda like you looking through your fingers.

The can't see very well. When I would take the one I used to have for a walk he would go along sniffing the ground and walk into things, power poles, hedges and such. When we moved to the country my other two dog would wonder for miles but the sheepdog was always there. That is until the spring when we got him clipped, then he was off with the other dogs. When his hair grew back he was at home all the time.
Big lovable clown, he was.

Hey, well, thats when the owners have to cut it so that it can see through - but when its really bad - or well long, then they tend to always run around to shake their bangs of their eyes, and waft their head to the side. Pretty clever really! But really, owners shoud cut it, because some sheepdogs get clumsy, and they get a bit dizzy, cant bothered to go anywhere - headache, after a while! So...yeah!
Anywayzzz, hope this helps!!

I doubt it can see very well. In fact I'm guessing it probably sees pretty much the same way humans see through long bangs.

They DON'T.
EVERY OES breeder I know either ties the hair up (if the dog is showing) or cuts it off (if the dog is retired).
Same goes for Beardies, Lhasas, Shih Tzus etc..

I don't think they can... hehe. At least, I know when my shih tzu gets a bath before we put her top knot back in she runs into stuff.
