Most labradoodles do have dander (it's dander, not dandruff). There are no allergen-free dogs, so its probably best to stick with a fish until you get your own house.

Your dog is a mixed breed and they have not standardized the breed yet so you can not be sure what it will look like when grown. Sounds like this puppy just might have a skin disease.let your vet take a look. That soft fur underneath is undercoat not the coat she will have as an adult. Some Labradoodles end up looking much more like a lab than a poodle, and some look more like a poodle than a lab. It's a crap shoot when you buy a mixed breed puppy. If you add oil, use salmon oil or a fish oil that says on the label that they guarantee no mercury. With a puppy only use on capsule every other day so you don't cause diarrhea. You can poke a hole in it and squirt it on the food. Most dogs love the taste, however don't count on this helping to change the outcome of the coat. It won't do that, but it might help the dandruff which a healthy puppy shouldn't have in the first place.

All dogs shed, it is a fact of life! A lab sheds big time and even though it is mixed with a poodle, which sheds less, it will still shed. Any dog can have dandruff if not bathed properly and often enough. A dog is a BIG responsibility. Do you have the funds and resources to care for a dog, a large dog, such as a (?) Labradoodle? If I were you, I'd think long and hard about getting a large dog. Be sure to read up on both breeds because you are going to need to know all about both breeds when you opt for a mixed breed dog.
Your Mom will probably tell you no about getting a dog of any breed because of her allergies. Think about how your Mom will have to suffer if you are allowed to get a dog.

Labradoodles can and often do shed(they are amix between a low shedding breed, yes Poodles do shed although minimally, and a Lab which is a heavy shedding breed and yes they do have dander..all dogs have skin, therefore all dogs get dander including Poodles .It's just some breeds tend to have more then others.

Labradoodles are not a breed but a cross breed. A mix of a Lab and Poodle. While some of them may not shed, many of them do. They are a mix, they will not breed true and always carry exactly the same genes from the two parents. While one might have curly hair like a Poodle and the other straighter hair like the Lab, they will vary from puppy to puppy in a litter.

If your Mom can get around a Poodle, Bichon Friese or Maltese, she should get one of them. These are the breeds that shed little. No matter what anyone says, they all shed because they are mammals.

The labradoodle is a cross between a lab and a poodle. The poodle portion is considered non-shedding but the lab portion still sheds. So, it depends on which the side is dominating the dog. It will definitely shed, but how much depends on if it is more like a poodle or lab. My daughter has a Cockapoo that takes more after the cocker than the poodle part and he sheds just like a cocker would. Sorry, there is just no way to tell on this.

the term is dander. and ALL animals have dander. But the wives tale is that they don't shed..NOT TRUE. all dogs and cats shed and along with that comes dander. The truth is that with certain breeds you don't see the shedding because the fur becomes tangles or mats. So if you want to have a dog and are willing to go through the effort -- there is a pet dander shampoo for people who have allergies to pets. I am asthmatic and dander triggers my episodes. So I used a product for my cats and bathed them according to the direction. A real great find because I love animals and refused to not have one. Good luck and check with a groomer of vet to see what is available for shampoos.

All dogs are going to shed a little at least, and all dogs are going to have dander, just like you do. Everyone with skin has dander; skin cells are going to die and slough off. It's usually not the skin people are allergic to, but rather contents of saliva that gets put on the fur.

All cats and dogs have dander. Some just have minimul dander. They have these new little mini frogs that go in a fishbowl. My kids have them and they are really neat. Just an idea so you don't get just a fish.

It is a LIE when people say that this mixed breed doesn't shed. Don't get one if you have a person in the home who is highly allergic. This is why so many of these poodle mixes end up in shelters and rescues... people fell for that LIE and thought they could get one, even with bad allergies.

Go to school tomorrow and CORRECT the person who told you that lie.
