I forgot to get more dog food today at the store! I have some leftover tuna cassarole from earlier today that I could give her - simple ingredients, pasta, cheese, milk, tuna, and diced tomatos. Is it ok to give that to a dog?

I am not going to immediately get a dog because of where I live and my current status of not being able to take the time for the animal. I was just wondering if anybody had any suggestions on large dog breeds. If you could, give temperments as well.

Lately, he's been rubbing his butt along the grass a lot as if it itches( I know gross). Do all dogs do this? Or could he have worms? Or maybe his butt just itches?

I am having a problem with someone in my neighborhood letting their dog poop in my yard and then not pick it up. This woman is highly obese and makes a big deal about having to pick it up when I am around to witness it. The problem is that I work very long hours and I can not be there to guard my yard against the onslaught of pet poo from her and her pet....

I do plan on confronting her but have not been around when she is walking her dog lately. Tonight I came home to a fresh pile right where I take out the garbage cans for the morning pick-up. I am a bit fed up at this point.

Does anyone have any ideas on ways that I can get my point across when I am not home? A sign that says that I appreciate pet owners picking up their dog's crap?? I am frustrated and hope that someone can help me a bit here. Thanks in advance.

Let's pretend you're one of those uneducated people who gets onto Yahoo answers. You don't know the first thing about shelters, breeding or anything, but you want to breed your Lhasa-poo. You're naive. (Use your imagination now...) So you post a question asking:

How much can I sell a Lhasa-poo and Pomeranian's puppies for?

Are you more likely to respond to:

A) You idiot! Why are you breeding your dog? You should be ashamed, putting more unwanted puppies out there to die in shelters. You are a heartless whale. Go get yourself educated. I hope your dog bites you.

or

B) It's great that you're interested in breeding your dog, but you might want to do a little bit of research first. There are a lot of puppies and dogs out there looking for homes already in shelters... you might look into doing foster care and help rehabilitate some dogs for other people to adopt. (Insert some more helpful knowledge here)

What's worse- this terrible crime or the 'pit bull' publicity?

Why doesn't the headline say "Fed to DOGS?"

What sort of punishment should be given to this person and how do we get the media to stop sensationalizing the 'pit bull' angle of every single story?

ANY breed could have done this if they were taught to regard the cats as prey/food...your thoughts?

Thanks.

...A small - to medium sized dog (not very small that could be trodden on!) that doesn't need huge walks or lots of exercise that would be happy with a few small walks a day, that isn't too exited in its temperament that would be ideal for people that don't get about much, like elderly people.. Just for a nice companion for them?

Any links to pictures would be hugely appreciated too.

Thanks

I have a 6 year old male Shih Tzu. Everytime he goes to the groomer he gets scared and he growls and snaps. I had a groomer before that could deal with him, but I have since moved out of state. I have tried every groomer in the area where I live now, they either wont groom him at all or they call me in mid groom and say "Come get him, I cant work with this dog." Or they charge me about 100$ over the normal price because they said he acted bad and took up to much of their time. So I have been forced to face the fact I am going to have to do this myself. I bought a dog grooming kit with shears, brushes and clippers. But I am confused about something, do I shave the dog before the bath? Or do I give him a bath, dry him then shave him? Or should I bathe him then shave while his hair is still wet? And please dont tell me this breed does not need to be shaved, I know that, but he just isnt happy when his hair is long. Any info and tips will help alot, thanks!

I have a 2 month old chihuaua, I bought him from a private breeder 3 days ago. I made a mistake and gave him turkey hot dog and tuna, because he wasn't eating his puppy food.
Now, he is sick and lathargic. He wont get up. And he has dihrea. He wont move.
I examined his gums and they look nice and pink. He just looks so depressed. I am planning on taking him to the Vet if he doesn't feel better by tomorrow afternoon. What can I do meanwhile.
He only drinks water.

I have a 8 month old boxer. I'm hoping to correct this behavior before it's a habit. I know, naturally, he wants to protect me and his yard, which is wonderful, but he's going overboard. The neighbors are going to start hating us! I'd like to teach him that 1 or 2 barks are ok, but then to trust that I can handle it from there. Suggestions?

If Cujo's owner had gotten him a rabies shot, he would have been a good dog? Debate with my boss about if some animals are just born bad or if their environment is at fault. I think all start out right till someone messes them up.

A week or so passed and he kept his right ear up and left ear down, and now he has left ear up and right ear down. He is well and is doing fine, its just he keeps one ear up and one down, whats going on?!

Well today i was leaving for my Vo-Tech school from my normal school and there was this dog sitting infront of the school doors just peering in at the kids eating lunch. So me and a few other votech kids went out and started playing with it and everything else. Shes a real friendly dog , and look exactly like my dog i already have.

So instead of catching the bus to votech , i skipped and took her home with me , My other dog and her got along real well and played for awhile , they look exactly alike except she has alittle longer fur and doesnt have a black snout.

But im having trouble deciding the right thing to do. I feel like shes one of my own already. She doesnt have any tags or anything so i didnt want to call the pound because i dont want her to get put to sleep.

Any thoughts on what i should do ?? At the moment im just keeping her

I am looking into getting a new puppy. My mom said no because she can not afford to feed and take to the vet a new dog (would make total of 4), 3 cats, and my sister's rats. I have a job and some savings so I don't think that the cost would be that bad. She said that if I pay for it and take on the cost of my other dog that she'll strongly consider it. I figure that the first year will cost around $1,000-1,500. I'll need: cage, food, food bowl, leash and collar, puppy class, shots, neuter, grooming supplies (brushes, scissors, clippers-- for cocker spaniel), and some chew toys. What do you think it'll cost?
