Lately, he's been rubbing his butt along the grass a lot as if it itches( I know gross). Do all dogs do this? Or could he have worms? Or maybe his butt just itches?

could be worms or it could be that he needs his anal glands expressed.

I don't think it's necessarily a sign of worms. If your dog has worms, you can see them in the feces. As another poster suggested, it might be the anal glands. The vet can check them and "squeeze" them if necessary. The Dachshunds in our family seem to be prone to that problem and scoot a lot.

its likely anal glands or worms, take a poop sample to the vets asap, they will do a fecal, if its worms they will show up on the test and the vet will perscribe dewormer...
if its anal glands the vet can express them there and then providing relife.
worms will not ALWAYS show in the poop so looing wont prove anything...
things like tapeworms have segments that can be so small youll not see them...whipworms do not shed...the only worms you will see in the poop is roundworms and its unlikely to be rounds in an adult dog.

Probably just his anal glands, many dogs do this from time to time, some more than others. If you think he may have worms, look at his poop if he does they should be visible.

This sound gross, but when he poop go look. If, he have worms you will see them. As mentioned it could be his Glands.

It's just his glands needing to be expressed, if it was worms he'd have white maggot like things in his poop. Check his poop for them, if he does you need to take him to the vet.

My shih tzu does that when she needs her anal glands expressed--- gross I know, but necessary!
