If you love your Stephen King, (and I do) you will remember the scene in the book where the dog was already sick and encountered his teenage owner in the fog. The sick part of the dog wanted to attack him, but the good dog remembered how much he loved the boy and turned away from him and ran off into the woods.
Cujo was a very good dog until he got sick. And although this story is, of course, sensationalized, it proves a point. At the end of the story, when the mother brings the boy his new puppy, the boy's first question is "Does he have his shots?"
King may have set out just to scare people, but I'll bet he scared a ton of people into rabies shots. So Kudos (and Cujos) to him!

You are exactly right. A pit Bull can be the nicest of most dogs if it grows up in a friendly and loving environment. You are what you eat and who you meet and how they treat you. For example, if a child was abused at a young age, he will most likely become a bully and possibly later in his life he would become a criminal. Statistics show that 68% of abused children become a criminal. This is because When a person or animal is treated badly, The thought that abusing and being mean seems to be ok because thats what there parents did and thats what they think is ok for them to do. Abusing an animal or child is a terrible thing to do because it starts many chains of bad habits for people or animals who couldve had a good life. if Cujo was given a rabies vacine than he'd be healthy and that'd mean that he'd be given proper care and lead a good life.

rabies turn all good animals bad. cujo's owner was careless! however i am a firm beleive that a dogs enivroment is what shapes a dogs personality. a trained, well taken care of dog will make a wonderful and loving pet despite the breed and a abused mistreaten animal will be a cruel unfriedly pet despite the breed.

Absolutely, if Cujo had a rabies shot, he wouldn't have ended up with rabies, plain and simple. Rabies caused that dog to go mad.

I'd like to agree, but your theory has some flaws. If we applied your theory to humans, the nature vs. nurture, then all serial killers would be able to blame their parents, their boyscout leaders, their priests...et al.
In some cases, NOT ALL, but in some cases a dog is just aggressive and the wiring isn't right. HOWEVER, if Cujo's owner had taken him to get his rabies shot, then his victim's wouldn't have contracted the deadly disease. LOL

yes but u have to remember Cujo was a character in a book. not a dog in real life. my uncle has a saint bernard and he is the sweetest dog in the world (except for the fact that he tackles u when he greets u) but he is an awesome dog. u do have to remember Cujo is a character not a real life dog

It's mostly environment that makes the big difference....however, certain breeds have been so inbred that they can seriously get messed up in the head regardless of upbringing. Three breeds known for this are pitbulls, rottweilers, and white german shepherds. They can be brought up to be the nicest dogs in the world, but occasionally they can just snap and go crazy mentally, or if put in the wrong situations or situation with which they are unfamiliar, they may behave differently, sometimes bad

Rabies shot doesnt make a dog good or bad. The dog will just be immunized from rabid dogs that bite them. I believe that all dogs are born good it's just how they are brought up that makes them good or bad.
