Check the Yorkie standard at the AKC website.

yorkie pups are born black and change color as they get older. u may have to wait a little longer to see how the coat changes, or read some books and look for pics.

It could be a mixed dog, but just because someone has never seen a black yorkie doesn't mean anything. My grandma has never seen a two-tailed cat, but I have ^.^

When we got our yorkie she was all black too. I thought she looked like a little bear. When she got older her paws got brown and inside her ears. Mine is AKC registered too. Now she is only 3 years old and turning silver lol (Like she has such a stressful life) But sounds to me that she will turn lighter just like mine did. I wouldnt worry about it. They are WONDERFUL pets! Just like part of the fmaily!

Who cares what some dude says....I searched the net for a mostly white dashund...and found the answer that there arent any white dashunds....well mine is mostly white and there's no mistaking hes all hot dog. The variety, colour and coats of breds are more varied than we know until we start looking.

If he didn't come from a breeder, he's probably a mix.
