I've got this mini pinscher that is so lovely and oh soooo sweet. But i've got this big problem with him, everytime i leave him with my other dog, he wrecks stuffs around the house, chews the sofa, telephone directories, plastics, rubber etc. So, would anybody pls., teach me how to train him for obedience or should i just put him on a leash or a dog cage?

You could crate your dog, but it is somewhat cruel to leave him cooped up all day on a leash or in a cage. Even worse: it doesn't solve the problem, which is his destructive behaviour. You need to get him toys that he CAN chew, and then praise him when he chews them. When you see him chewing anything else, take him by the back of his neck and move him away from it, firmly but not forcefully, and say "No."

Your MinPin is EXACTLY like my rescued Terrier!!!!
Besides the same size (mine's Toy breed, Chihauhau xTerrier).

THEY have "Separation Anxiety Disorder",... no kidding!
Rescued my dog from pound as a young adult,... she's now 13 yrs. old and still have destructive tantrums every time I leave the house without her. Even for short errands or grocery shopping trips.
She routinely chews telephone books, boxes, mags., rug runners, mats, you name it (whatever she can reach fr. my open lower drwrs. or near the floor, even some of my underwear, other clothes,.......all got little mouth-size holes or bite/torn rips).

I don't believe in kenneling a dog that's never been kenneled before (she got worse with age, and before a few yrs. ago, I was blaming my other dogs! They looked guilty, the littlest one didn't! lol).

Solution? Everytime leave the house and can't take her, I deliberately throw on the floor an old catalogue or phone book or such for her to tackle out her frustration. And tune out to her carrying on (barking/yapping).
It works,... but a bit of mess when I return (bits of chewed up paper).

It's a fear of abandonment with lots of rescued dogs.
Not sure the background of your minpin though.
You could try kenneling your dog, but his anxiety will still be there.

Get a crate for him and ease your mind and save your house!

Easy answer .. Crate home when you go out and when you can't watch him... Correct him when he is misbehaving when you are home.. he isn't naughty, he is untrained.
