my staffy loves to eat grass. I have always thought that they did it to make them selves sick but this is not the case with my dog. It never makes her sick and she eats it every day. Could she be lacking something in her diet or do you think she just likes the taste?

My dog (age 12) has always eaten grass and never throws up. Just make sure the grass your dog eats isn't contaminated with fertilizers, weed killers, and the like.

I think they eat it because it is supposed to help them expel thier stomach contents when they don't fell well. The reason I think it is supposed to be so bad, is not really the grass, unless your lawn is treated & that's bad, but it is because the blades are so sharp that they cause tiny lacerations kindof like a paper cut to thier stomach lining and thier throat when they bring it back up (notice how it does not break down no matter which end it comes out of)

Dogs usually eat grass when their stomach is upset. It'll either settle the stomach, or make them throw up which will settle the stomach.
It's not a dietary lack indicator.
Don't worry about it.

Not to worry....Dogs eat grass to help settle their stomach.. I think all dogs eat grass now and then..It's normal.

That is good for them to eat grass, it keeps their stomach balanced. It is completely normal. They usually do it when they dont feel very well

No it is not bad for them. Dogs normally have instincts about whats good and bad for them. Don't let you dog do it if you have put weed killer down because that would be bad for it.

NO they eat grass to soothe their stomach. Eat grass, puke it up.. Something is irritating her stomach. CHeck your dog food, check to see if she is getting into something. Have her tested for worms and parasites.. Take her to the vet if you feel the grass consumption is excessive.

i had a dog that did it, they do it when their stomach is upset. it helps them :]
