Also, he was paper trained- but then he EATS the paper- I get him outside and he goes--he of course as a pup, likes to chew EVERYTHING--even our carpet-he rips it out near the tile--not good- caught him chewing on the cell phone charger and trying on other wires-not good--I'm going crazy because everytime I turn around he is into mischief--knocks things off the coffee table chews them, digs in the dirt in my plants- chews the leaves--(moved all toxic plants to my bedroom dressers-diffenbachia)---the vet said to let him smell a treat before you let him outside then praise him when he goes and give him the treat when he comes in---sorry, but he has no CLUE what the treat is for by the time he comes in the house--there must be a better way---need all the advise I can get Oh by the way-- my 11 year old female is being tormented because he thinks she is her mother--thank god she tolerates his pulling on her ears!

This really bothers me okay! people ask questions about their dog (pitbulls) and they say why dont you get rid of him before he hurts a baby! this is really out of control i have a pit and he wouldnt hurt anything! I mean have you ever owned one or do you go by what the "news" says? I think it isnt right if i had the chance to change how people feel about this breed i would. my pit is very well behaved, well he most of the time hes still a puppy. I have so many people come up to me and say is he going to bite me! Its desturbing hes about 2 feet high. he wants to get to you for you to pet him and him to lick you to death. My pit is around people and many types of dogs all the time! I just wanna know how you feel about this? you could make a lil poodle mean!

This past weekend, another dog attacked my dog - unprovoked - at an off-leash park we visit regularly. I did not call the police because neither dog was injured, and the owners of the dog took her home. However, soon after the incident, I learned that that dog had tried to pick fights with other dogs earlier in the afternoon. People at the park had even asked the other dog's owners to take her home because she was being too aggressive. I also found out that this was not the first day that the other dog had caused trouble at the park. This dog attacks other dogs for no reason. She's aggressive and should not be off-leash in public.
What is the best course of action for park visitors should those people show up again? Do we all have to wait for that dog to injure another dog or a person before we can do anything?
Please advise!

One of my dogs has some social issues. She barks at the door bell, people and other dogs. She's is very sweet to me though. Now we found a stray dog in our yard one day and had to help it. So now we have two and our first dog won't get along with the stray dog. And we can't give the stray dog away because no one will take him. If anyone has any advice on what I should do please help. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I never eat at fast food places anymore. I gave that up probably 4 years ago. However, I still stop by every once in a while and get a burger for my dog. Now she is getting fat. Unfortunately, everytime we drive by a McD's or a BK or a Wendy's she whines and I always give in. Any suggestions?

I have two very small Chihuahua's. They are both about six pounds each. One loves to go for long walks and that is how him and I get a lot of exercise. The other one is timid, frail and fragile. He is healthy, he is just a bit sensative, he is very active outside, but he is afraid of the outside world, he likes his Daddy and his brother. He does not like long walks nor is he very good at them. Is it bad I walk one dog and leave the other at home? I don't want to hurt the others feelings? I want the exercise for me and the other one though.

I've a black labrador female, around 4 months old.
How can I turn her into atleast an average guard dog?
Atleast bark at suspicious strangers. Right now she wants to just lick and smell any person she comes across.

I used to live in an apartment and now I have recently moved into a older home. My dog (1 year 3 month old Golden Retriever) used to love his cage. When I get ready to leave he would just walk in there when I told him to and just lay down. Now, his cage is in the basement of the home and he HATES it. I have to practically drag him down there and force him into his cage when I am getting ready to leave. He will try and run from me, get low to the ground, and brace himself to try and not be put into his cage. Also, now every time I put in in there, he will pee. What can I do to get him acquainted to his cage being down there? I don't want him to be unhappy! PLEASE HELP!!!

I like big dogs, mainly gun dogs like Weimaraners, Pointers, Springer Spaniels and Labradors.

Hi, I have been treating my 14 week old pup with Advocate from the vets, which you put on back of his neck. Vet says it treats fleas and worms in one. He still drags his bottom on the floor though, could it still be worms or something else?

I need to shave the hair off of my parent’s dog. Her hair has become severely matted and no one ever brushes her. The vet suggested that we shave her to take care of it. She is a mixed breed; chow/shepherd mix. I used a pair of human clippers on her and it took almost an hour to clip a 6 sq inch section. Her undercoat is very thick and she is getting mats. I am experienced in clipping dogs, but I’ve never seen fur that is so thick it causes clippers to over heat! What are some good HEAVY DUTY clippers to use that will cost less than the $100 I've been quoted for grooming?

We bought a Yorkie pup home last Thursday and my mum is at the end of her tether with him because he just won't stop whining, most of the night and day and he seems to be getting louder. My mum rang the breeder and she said that this litter have particularly big lungs and are very loud but she didn't tell us this before buying him. We do love him but none of us are getting any sleep and we are worried he'll get worse as he's older. Are there any tips to help keep him quiet? We let him out of his crate during the day if there are people about, we play with him to keep him amused and settle him before we put him down for the night and ware him out but it doesn't seem to work. We put him in his crate and he starts but has now started when he's out. He's 9 weeks old. We tried ignoring him but that makes it worse.

Hi I have a 3 month old Bichon Frise cross puppy. This may seem like an odd question but I can't see his testicles, unless they are realy well hidden in his fur, when should they descend? also he does seem to be tender around that region, squelas if I try to look there, and sometimes yelps when rubbing his bottom on the ground. Any ideas?

you. The reason I asked is because when I brought my dog back home he was very lethargic and tired for 2 hours before he was himself again. I will not take my dog back to this person and was why I asked if any drugs could have been used.

She's 6 years old and was rescued 3 years ago from a puppy farm. She is otherwase a well behaved daschund who likes to eat and sleep most of the time. She is kept indoors! If I go and stay downstairs with her or if I bring her into my room, she is ok, but she then snores VERY loudly and it is impossible to sleep.
