2 and it depends on what husky your talking about....

I had a lab/malamute cross. Malamutes are known for their destructive chewing and when I say chewing I mean CHEWING! Like the siding off my house the phone jack off the side of the house, all the hoses in the yard, the bra off the front of my car, my couch cushions, remotes, telephones, answering machines, for 5 YEARS and you still had to keep him occupied with a bone or something. He never never stayed in the yard, they will run for miles, he got out of the house once when the Fed Ex man came and I found him nearly 5 miles from home. He wasn't a bad dog, he was easily house trained, sit, shake, lay down. He listened like a charm in the house but if they get loose forget it.....and they Pull hard while walking on a leash. They also can not be trusted around cats or other small pets especially chickens. Though mine wouldn't harm a flea the breed is known to tear chickens apart. They like to run deer which can result in shooting. I tried everything with my dog and everyone I talked to was like Duh, does husky mean anything to you....If they are not running they are destroying stuff. Basically if you want a dog to go play at the beach with you and fetch sticks, or talk a relaxing walk with through the woods, THIS IS NOT THE BREED! please find out what husky mix it is for SURE and do TONS and TONS of research so you know what your getting into. I'll tell you if some one would have warned me I wouldn't have gotten one. But if you do decide to go with this breed I wish you the best of luck that it doesn't turn out like mine did. Also I am not ripping on the breed they are good at what they are good at and that is RUNNING!

it depends on the owner - and what they intend to use to dog for - if its for a city/house pet where the owner works out of home I would rate it a 9 - a VERY bad choice.

reason: Huskies are active dogs they need ALOT of running - if their needs are not met they will become bored and destructive. Labs are slightly more patient but also require some mental stimulation to be happy.

for a Country dog where owner plans on letting dog loose, also a 9 - Huskies are among the #1 dogs shot by famers for being nusicenses (pests) to other farmers.. they are well known as cat /chicken killers etc..

over all I would rate it as a 7 for an owner who is home alot and intends to spend alot of time working with the dog...and dogs alot of running.

Not quite sure what you mean by "rate it", but a Lab/Husky mix is going to be SUPER high energy. Labs are a very active breed and Huskies are bred to run, daily, for hours on end. Labs are highly intelligent and easy to train but they can also be stubborn. Huskies are independent and stubborn. Combine the stubbornness of both breeds and you have a, well, stubborn dog!

IMHO, they would have to be rated 0 to 10 because there is no way to tell with a mix what the dog will be like. It would be just as easy to get the worlds worse dog as it would be to get the worlds best dog.
