I missed your first question, but you bring up an interesting point. Any dog groomer that drugs your dog before grooming should not be allowed to practice, unless those meds were provided by your vet specifically for your dog in those circumstances.
My dog always comes back from the groomer tired, but she plays with other dogs & barks/jumps around all day while she is there.

i grew to become into commencing up to additionally think of there grew to become into some dogs groomer conspiracy / secret taking place with the aid of fact the previous couple of cases my mixed breed has returned from our dogs groomers, he has long gone out of his thank you to locate water immediately and then set there and drink finished bowl after finished bowl. The comments right here has positioned my strategies at relax, even with the undeniable fact that, i'm advantageous this is probable those dryers they have and use, and the reality that whether water grew to become into made obtainable to my little JoJo, he's in all probability too excited to drink any at the same time as there. I wasn't questioning a sedative, nevertheless, i grew to become into questioning they have been giving canines some thing to decrease urination, i.e. salt pills or another dehydrator. yet now I comprehend how ridiculous that sounds, and this could be a sturdy component, with the aid of fact we like the way he looks whilst he's finished getting groomed with the aid of those human beings we've been utilising presently--Sandys Pawz of San Marcos, Calif.

Dissenting opinion,,,,,,,
Know many people that LIKE being bitten????
With many dogs a groomer has two choices, give it a small amount of Acepromazne or refuse the job.
Now I agree it shouldn't be done without permission, but just think about this for a minute, how many people take their dog to a groomer because it tries to bite them every time they try to trim it's claws.

This could just be your dog if he's scared and not used to it they can get very tired and exhausted fromt eh experience. or Some dogs are just ashamed and like to hide while others like to trot around and show off their new do.
Try another grromer but it might be teh dog.
When i groom I take time so teh dog gets use to the whole situatina dn you pick the dog up right after instead of leaving many extra hours.

no groomer would use medication to sedate your dog...only the you can give the permission to do that under the supervision of your vet....but my dog (a tea cup Yorkie) does the same thing after being at the groomer.....I think it is stressful for him as well as playing with other animals....
