A week ago we brought home a german shepherd puppy he is now 9 weeks old. From day one we have taken him for walks...more like tried to walk him. Once I get him so far from the house he seems to loosen up and do better but still will stop and sit at almost every other door. He hates going outside unless its to go to the bathroom and its all business.... go out, go potty ,come back in, he doesn't give me a problem with this. When we walk I try to praise him once we get so far and play a little, then walk some more. I don't want to pull him but this is the only way I have found that he gets the idea that the walk is going to happen whether he wants it to or not.

Ideally, I don't want to fall out with them, but I find it repulsive. She claims the dog can't get out, but we've seen it.
She denies the "poop" is from her dog.
It runs free with no collar on too. It's not a viscious dog - it's a big soft chocolate labrador.
If my husband finds out the dog has done it again, there'll be big trouble!

I bought new dog food recently and am afraid to open it and feed it to my dogs because I am afraid it might have some of the rat poison in it. What brands are affected and how do I know if it is safe or not?

I adopted an older male dog, half golden retriever and half saint bernard a few months ago. He has been the perfect dog up until recently. The last 2 weeks, he just keeps running off. He is very quick and big (120 lbs.) so it makes him hard to grab and stop. He will sit and stay when told to but it's hard to tell him that when you're walking in the house from being gone or the kids are going outside to play and he pushes his way out the door and bolts! If you try to catch him, he runs off faster thinking you're playing with him. The only way I was able to get him home before was to drive the car and tell him we're going bye-bye then he'd jump in the car. But now, he won't even come near the car! We have tried kennel punishment, lead punishment, consulting a trainer, etc. This is becoming a major problem because with his size, he terrifies everyone on the streets because they don't know how gentle he is. All they see is this giant dog running toward them!! More coming...

some people thinkthat these are the only dogs that should be allowed to reproduce, and this bothers me. if everyone had their lesser dogs "fixed" then only the rich could afford to buy a puppy. i love my mix breed dog shes great. and really dont see anything wrong with being a mix breed. I do have all my animals "fixed" but i was just wondering what would happened if everyone else did , would we all have the pets that we love so much? and please dont preach to me about the benifits of having your pets fixed, i already know about them i have worked in a vet clinic for about 10 years and all my animals are "FIXED" except my horse. they are someplaces that have a shotage for dogs and are having them transported from other areas.

I'm 15 and although my mom had dogs when she was younger, I never had a dog before. I heard Jack Russells are hyper but everything else about it seems to fit what I want perfectly. Is this an ok first dog?

My sister's dog does it the most; she will take a couple of pieces of food in her mouth and drop it on the living room floor, then eat it. I just watched my new puppy do it also so I was just curious to see if anyone had any idea why =)

My family owns a small farm on Martha's Vineyard and just recently we got some sheep and we wanted to look into getting a Border Collie. We want a male that about 1 or 2 years old and is trained for "herding" type work. Does anyone know of any rescues or places that are ideal for what we are looking for? Thanks!

Our 10 year old stray fixed female dog is scratching with her back feet on her stomach to the irritating point. After we talk to her, she stops and goes over to infernal licking.
We cannot see anything wrong with skin, no bugs, no animals, nothing.
If we put some olive oil, it seems to cool her down for a while.
This usually happens every year at this time, and finally it will all stop, but I feel so sorry for her now that she is at this stage.
Any idea what this can be or be caused of, and is there anything else we could do for her (last year we went to the Vet and he told us to bath her, which we did and everything just seemed to be worse....)

Lately, I've been sighting mice in my house. I know I should get a cat for mice problem, but at the same time I am a dog lover and would perfer having a dog instead. It would be great if I can get a cute small size dog that also help take care of the vermin problem in the house. From my researches online, mini schnauzer and toy fox terrier are small toy dogs with the ability to hunt vermins. Do you know any other small size dog breed that's good for hunting mice?? Thanks!

This is no affected by recalls, uses human grade ingredients, the wheat used is not from China, so is not affected by the recalls whatsoever.

There is also a money back guarantee, and free shipping.

Most of the foods you find on the shelf are made by the same companies. (example, many different brands are manufactured by Menu, which has a lot of recalls.)

Hope this helps!

I bought a cute 10-week-old boxer puppy a week ago and she looks and acts perfectly healthy until she goes to sleep. Often when she's sleeping she starts to twitch, which doesn't concern me at first, but as she sleeps her twitching gets more violent until her whole body and every facial muscle is spasming. Yesterday she was convulsing so hard that I got scared and picked her up and called her name, but she wouldn't respond to me - her tongue was hanging out and her eyes were rolled back in her head. I gently shook her and shouted her name, but it took about 5 tries before she snapped out of it. When she's awake she acts totally normal...very playful and puppy-like. Should I take her to the vet, or is this just deep dreaming? Serious answers only, please. Thanks.
