I have an AKC registered mini-schnauzer. He is from a championship blood line. My vet has suggested many times "studding" him out. I am seriously thinking about doing this. The breed isn't common for my area (I had to drive 2 hours to pick him up). What are the contracts like for studding your dog? Costs involved to stud owner? I would like "pick of the litter" verbiage in the contract. I still have about 3 months to go, but I don't know how soon to put the ad in the newspaper or on Craig's List.

Help me!!!

He used to come in the house to visit with me and wag his tail. This afternoon, I fed him a bite of an ice cream sandwich and he was all happy to see me and an hour later, I said "hey, butch", he looked at me like if I got any closer he would bite me. His tail was down and he just had that look.
A couple of weeks ago, he was lying on the floor in front of the doorway, and I rubbed his back with my socked foot gently and he growled and snapped at me and I just assumed I rubbed something that hurt him. Now I am beginning to wonder if he has dementia. What is going on with the dog?
This dog really loved me a couple of weeks ago and now something is up.

I'm getting a 9 week old Shih Tzu tomorrow, and I'm not sure if I should give it water all night in the crate, or take it away. Some sites say to keep it with her at all times, while others say take it away at like 9 o'clock. What do you guys suggest?

If your dog leaves the yard, do you reward him for returning home, or punish him for running away. WIll he be confused as to why he is in trouble?

Dogs or wolves? Not as a pet, just as an animal.

Hello I bought a bulldog from terrificpets.com The breeders name is Jessica Rutherford from Missiouri. She had him advertised as AKC. I bought him in Nov. 2006 and had him flown to me where I was supposed to pick up him along with his akc registration papers. When I got there he had no AKC papers. I contacted her and she said she would get them in the mail. Well end of December still no papers. Try contacting some more. Said she will get them in the mail the next week. Well it is now April 2007 five months after I bought him and I cant get in contact with her. I email, call, instant message, text message. Still no response. I used another screen name and acted like I wanted to buy another puppy and she responded within one minute. When I asked her where my dogs papers was she got defense and said I told you I would get them in the mail. Now still trying to contact anyway possible. But no response. What can I do in a situation like this? Can I still receive papers?

I give up....
I chose Royal Canin for my two 7 month old American Pitbulls, sinse they were only 6 weeks of age. They loved it by the way. The problem is that one of my doggies looked very thick, but not overweight, and the other one didn't look that big, but not thick at all either. One weights about 70 lbs, and the other weights 65 lbs (but they just don't show their weigth).....I've heard, and seen people who feed their dogs with Pedigree, and the dogs actually build a strong, stocky, thick bodies. The thing is that with Pedigree, dogs will actually gain more weight. I mean, Royal Canin is premium dog food but I'm not even sure if it's actually giving me the results I want for my puppies.........Maybe there's people out there who have experience with Pedigree or Royal Canin, and might offer some suggestions....Also, I know about all those other brands, such as Nutro natural, blue buffalo, eaukanuba, etc (that don't have fillers;but they will probably give me the same results..

My 17 year old springer spaniel has cirrohsis of the liver. Most dogs don't live long enough to get it, but most small dogs will get cirrohsis if they live long enough.

I need a couple of recipes that will combine pasta and veggies. Or other things that are not meat.
