Just a note on ole roy, I have been feeding my Springers it for many years! My dogs are extremely healthy and with few trips to the vet except of vaccinations. They are filled with energy, healthy coat and weight, and never tire when hunting. So. i wouldn't worry about feeding Ole Roy, anymore than I would about any other dog food, costing much more money per bag.

The dry food is not on the recall list as far as I know, but the jury is still out regarding the definitive cause of pet death and how extensive contamination by wheat or wheat gluten may be.
On the recall more recently were Alpo prime cuts varieties of canned food. Some treats were recalled, like gravy train treats, and others by del monte. These were dry but contained wheat or wheat gluten possibly contaminated.
Dingo Chick'N Jerky treats for ferrets, cats and dogs was also recalled for Salmonella showing up in testing of product. Science Diet recalled a DRY prescription dry food for cats that had potentially contaminated wheat or wheat gluten in it.
If it was me, I'd change the diet for the fact that wheat product is in the food.
You have probably heard all the other reasons people don't recommend Ol' Roy so I won't go there.
I will not feed my dogs any products with wheat or wheat gluten until there is resolution about cause and extent of contamination when it comes to pet foods.
It is worth it to me to wait in case that one treat might be bad.
This is just my thoughts on it.

Sunshine Foods who makes Ol Roy dog bisquits are on the list of recalled pet foods as of today. So far the dog food has not made it, but can we really trust the companies to tell us the truth?
From everything I've read, NO.
We're just now finding out about this wheat gluten that is not safe, from a company that knew about pets becoming ill for months and chose not to inform us. I know you don't want to be referred to a website, but before you go buy yet another cheap, inferior product for your pets (I assume you do care about what you feed them!) you check out the FDA list of recalled pet food, dog treats, and now dog chews that are contaminated with salmonella.
Your dogs depend on you to give them food that will not kill them!

Menu Foods only manufactures wet pet food in cans and foil pouches. Dry pet food is not part of the Menu Foods recall,
That is a quote directly from the site, you can go there, and look at the most recent FAQ!
good luck- i hope this helps, and my dog eats it too, he wont eat anything else, just don't buy the ol roy treats!!!!!

Ole'Roy dry is not on recall as of yet, however Ole'Roy is one of the very worst foods you can possibly feed your dog. It is comparitable to feeding your dog gravy soaked sawdust.
I recommend that you switch to a better quality food. Even Purina and Pedigree (which aren't good foods either) are a lot better then Ole'Roy.

No it is not on recall, but i suggest switching to a better quality food. Ol roy is basically made from scraps that are left over from the good quality food. Purina dog chow is good and reasonably priced.

The dry isn't on the recall list, but it's a terrible dog food. Not good for the digestive tract, or for the haircoat. I'd recommend changing to the best quality diet you can afford to feed consistently!

Right now it is just the wet food and some treats. I would strongly suggest you find a better food for your dogs than ORoy.
