Unfortunately they've been bred that way to appeal to potential owners who think they're soooo cute. I can't really talk, I think chihuahuas and the like are soooo cute, but when I see people like Paris Hilton using them as an accessory it makes me mad.

I don't know why but I knew a guy once who had the strangest looking dog I ever saw. Great big head and bandy legs with a tiny little body. The mother was a great dane and the father a chihuahua. I kid you not.

Its just their genes. Last ii heard they were seeing what made some dogs so large and others so small and seeing whether they can make other animals supersized.

it more than likely started with ratters IE jack Russel's but each country had its own variety big dogs big pray, small dogs small pray

i dont get it either. theyre completely pointless but i guess some people think theyre cute so somebody bred them specificaly because of it
