I bought new dog food recently and am afraid to open it and feed it to my dogs because I am afraid it might have some of the rat poison in it. What brands are affected and how do I know if it is safe or not?

Go to menufoods.com for a complete list! If you really want to be safe do not feed anything with wheat gluten in it.l Royal caine and several others have no wheat gluten and are safe but you will have to pay more for the food

They continue to add to the list every day. There are some treats out there recalled too. I took all my dog food back to the store that was unopened and threw the rest away. NO more dog food for my dogs. When I found out there are dead dog parts from animals that have been euthanized, that did it for me. Someone on another posting said she would only feed her dogs food that said, "no fillers added". I don't think she had the food tested to be sure. As they don't tell you all that is in that food either.

We can't blame other countries for this. If our testing was done properly here in the U.S. this would not have happened. But just like everything else, our govt. waits until everything blows up in our faces before they do anything about it.

I will continue to say this mess was not an accident. Someone did it on purpose. It will eventually come out, if the govt. doesn't stop us from knowing the truth.

Yes, according to the news all the bad dog food was taken off the shelves and now the food is safe. Yes, it was only wet food that was contaminated. I used to mix the wet with the dry but now my dog only eats dry. He doesn't like it but at least I have peace of mind that he won't get sick and die.
If they get hungry enough they will eventually eat the dry food.

Keep wathcing the news and checking in to other web sites. I have heard and read that PETA and other people want the fda to check into foods that are not on the list because that have been animals that have been getting sick on foods that are not listed. I keep on watchin g the news and I have checked out other sites. I even found something that other people should see. go check this site out. http://durbin.senate.gov/ record.cfm?id = 271910
off to the right hand side it says something about contaminated cat and dog food click on it and see what he says about the whole recall.

Only one brand of dry pet food has been recalled because of the rat poison. Mostly, it's been pouched, canned, and wet pet foods. Go to www.menufoods.com to find out the brands recalled.

They keep adding to the recall list every day. That's what we get when we get stuff from other countries!
