A dog. They are so loyal and yearn to please you. Where ares as cats, it's the other way around. YOU are the one who hasa to be loyal to them. They are like royal heinesses waiting for you to meet their command! "You must obey me." I know, I have 5 cats. LoL. But luckily I have three dogs that almost meet everything I've taught 'em.

Neither. Wanting to care for an animal is a responsibility, and I think you should choose by researching both and then decide what you want to do. Dogs are pack animals, cats are not. Both have advantages and disadvantages. You should be able to take care of the animal properly. Dogs require walking, are best not forced to walk a lot of steps and require training (up to varying points). Walking is great during nice weather, and what would you do when it is raining heavily? Cats are independent, yet require attention, would you enjoy not being listened to?
Both animals make excellent pets, if you care for them properly. There is no better, just different.

I would say neither. But if you have to have one, consider this. If you get a dog, you will have to let them out all the time. If you dont have a house, you will have to walk them in the rain, snow, cold, or hot. But they are loving, and will protect you. If you get a cat, they go in a litter box, and if you stay out all night, you wont have to worry about coming home to a mess. Sometimes, they do get territorial though, and will spray around the house. Both have hair that sheds, and gets all over your clothes. They are expensive to feed and take to the vet. So, good luck on your choice.

A dog is better, because you can do more stuff with it and a cat likes to claw on stuff. You should get a dog that stays little.

That's an extremely large jump.
Cats are more independent, and smaller. They can live up to 18 years if cared for outstandingly. They 'claim' parts of your house sometimes. They know where to go to the bathroom. They are extremely smart, but it's harder to teach them tricks. They can sleep up to 15 hours per day.
Dogs are friendly and sometimes more people oriented. They can live up to 17 if cared for outstandingly. They lift their legs in the house if they're not neutered, but don't really 'claim' parts of the house. They need to be potty trained. They are smart, and easier to train when they're younger. They need to go on walks, but don't sleep as much as cats.
