Hi i am 8 months pregnant with my first baby and my husband and i have 2 middle aged staffies 6 and 7. We love them very much and it didn't occur to us that there would be any problems with them once we have our baby, (they are great with family and friends children) but it seems like everyone we know is asking what we are going to do with the dogs and looking dissaprovingly at them. Does anyone have staffordshire bull terriers and small children do you have any advise??

Here is the deal, she's 16 years old, her birthday is coming up in two weeks and we want to spend a full weekend together... we both live in China, in two different cities, we have half of the country in between.

Her parents are Super stricts, she's got one best friend, (not many foreigners over there) but her parents don't trust her that much, so saying that she's going over her palce for the weekend probably won't work.

We have the money for the plane tickets, hotel, fun, everything, all we still need to figurate out, is her cover...

During week she goes to school, her dad is the school's principal, during weekends she's suposed to go to church!! and her mom is her leader. (she sings there).

I've done this kind of stuff so many times, I used to tell my parents that i was going to my friend's or to some competition for sports and get a couple of days... but with her is just different... ANY IDEAS???

my friend runs animal rescue and is taking in an unwanted 4yr old Great Dane today. The Dane is obviosly going to be scared and confused by its new surroundings, i would like to go and see it as i am thinking of fostering it for her. Whats the best way of approaching it without it freaking out???

My friend was told that she is friendly with everyone and everything, but i am slightly wary because of her size. Advice?

I am dogsitting for a friend of ours. The dog (we call her momma) is a yellow creek beagle and she is pregnant. Our friend lives alone and in Mississippi so he can't be there to watch her during the day. So, 'Momma" has been here at my house since Sunday. I was told that she is due any day now. What are some signs that she is getting ready to deliver? Her belly is really big and her 'milk bags' are really full. She laid on me the other day and left milk spots on my shirt. I am 25 and I have a daughter of my own so don't be shy to tell me what to look for. I have never had a dog have puppies, (I keep mine far, far, far away from males when it is her heat cycle), so I'm not sure what the 'signs' of 'getting ready' are for a dog. Please help! Thanks.

I am in my last year of home schooling and just got a toy breed puppy. I want him to learn to sleep in a kennel. Is that ok? Next year I'll stay with my gramma and she said the puppy will be ok but has to be in a kennel at night. Should I get him used to it now or wait until next year?

He just seems very unsure and growls and shows his teeth if my son gets within 5 feet of him. Will neutering help? I'm afraid of him when he does that, he growls at me and my husband too. We tried to get him in the submissive position like The Dog Wisperer, but he never submits! HELP

I have taken her to the vet and got an antibotic for a bladder infection but she still has the same problem. She can be sound asleep and wake up with a big puddle under her. After I wake her up when she does the involuntary urination she still has to go outside.

I cannot hardly handle the dog because he weighs 80 pounds and does what he pleases. Should I give the dog away or send him to obedience training. I just got off work, fed him and when I opened the door to the garage, he took off down towards the river. I called him to come back and he just could care less. This is the 2nd time in a week I am afraid the police will get called on us. We live in a little town population 600.

WE HAVE A 5 MONTH OLD DOBERMAN, AND SHE HAS SUCH DRY SKIN. WE WASH HER IN AN OATMEAL BASHED SHAMPOO THE VET GAVE US, AND GIVE HER THE PILLS WITH THE OILS INSIDE OF THEM. BUT SHE STILL HAS SUCH FLAKY SKIN. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO, OR ANYTHING BETTER? I GIVE HER A BATH ONCE A WEEK IN THE SHAMPOO AND LEAVE IT ON FOR 5-10 MINS AND GIVE HER ONE PILL A DAY.

THANKS!

She got spayed about two weeks ago and she needed to go back for a checkup 10 days after. I had to drop her off there for 8 hours and pick her up after school. She's known how to sit for months now on command, but ever since that check-up, she will NOT sit on command anymore. I may be paranoid, but I'm guessing the other dogs at the drop-off area got to her...? Do I have to re-teach her how to sit?

I have been unable to find a dog food that my dog will consistently eat. He just does not like regular dog food, point blank! He would much rather prefer human food, but unfortunately I live alone and eat out most of the time so I do not have leftovers to feed him. He is beginning to slim down as a result and I would now like to move him to a high protein meat diet, however, I have been unable to find inexpensive meats to cook for him and my other rottweiler. Are there any meats that I could buy that my dogs would enjoy, and at the same time will not have to spend a whole lot of money. I know this diet will be somewhat expensive, but I am looking for the most economical way. What are some inexpensive meats?
