yesterday i took my mini schnauzer to the vet, he said he would call her pregnant. ok. fine. today, i took her to the groomer, who promptly told me she has been breeding schnauzers for 20 years, and that my dog was indeed, not pregnant. she said that since they did not "tie", there was no possible way she is pregnant. how come one person says yes she is, and the other says no she is not. help.

so my dog ran away and she came back limping, my mom said just to leave her alone to see if it would wear off..and it did, but she kind of loses her balance..so we took her to a vet because i was terrified(not as much anymore, but still am worried) and the vet said that she probably gotten hit with something..and my jaw went wide open..but she said that she doesnt think it has anything to do with the brain because she said that she would be depressed and things like that..yet when shes at home..she seems depressed..doesnt wag her tail when i bring her leesh out which she ALWAYS does, and im worried that my vet was wrong..any advice? i mean my mom is fed up with me right now cuz we had to pay 320$ for xrays and other stuff today for the vet, so she doesnt want to go back again and spend money, i personally think it has something to do with her brain..like head trauma? brain damage? because she had/has the symtoms of trauma(i looked it up) should i just wait it out??

I got my puppy 3 days ago from a aminal shelter..i'm not sure how old he is but he doesn't look older than 4 months, when we first got him in the house he has horrible diarrhea, but then he settled down. He threw up once but it was just spit, he didn't eat the first day we got him and, i cannot really afford the vet right now. He's recentally not eating or drinking. but, i'm been giving him water unwilingly , He ate yesterday but not today. He's been siting up while sleeping which is kind of odd... My mother said he smells weird,, like infection. but we gave him a bath the day we got him. I just don't know what too do.

It does not happen daily but here lately it has been more than normal. He will sit there and just bite on them and I have looked to see what it could be and there is never anything in bettween his paws.

China is selling gluten wheat that is tainted. Now they are including dog biscuits. This is a serious event. Why can't we boycott items made in China to prove our pets are an actual member of our families?

I have not had to do this before. What typically is to be done with the remains? Does it go to the Vet, animal shelter, pet cemetary, backyard, etc. What is normal protocol? We live in a 250,000 pop city.

I have a question... I have two dogs (both rescued from the pound). Both are given heart worm and flee/tick meds as well as all but one of their shots together and on a regular basis. Here is my problem. They were adopted at different times of the year so Bella, the oldest, gets her Rabies shot in December and Heidi gets hers in May. When I called the vet and asked if I could somehow get them on the same schedule I was told to just wait until May and get both of them done then, not before. Does that sound right? Can Heidi get her shot a month early or will it hurt her?

Anyway, I am worried that if Bella gets out she might be quarantined or put down. (99% of the time she is passive - unless she is cornered or thinks Heidi or the family are being threatened - then all 20 lbs of her thinks she is Napoleon or something.) We are also moving at the end of the month which adds to my worry that she might get out...

Thanks for the help!

Our dog was recently put down. We have the opportunity to get a free retriever mix pup. I wanna be original and kinda neat about it's name. Sometimes your pet's name says something about the pet owner themselves. I guess I'm just not creative enuff ta think of a really good one. I probly will pick out, (with my lil girl) a female. Dont they make better pets? Females? Too many questions!! LOL, any help would certainly be appreciated. I think most of the pups have a small white spot on them in certain places. Oh well Thanx Tam from Alabam!

I have a black lab/dane mix he is 6 years old. And has never done this before (except when he was a puppy). But I will take him outside, walk around for about 10 minutes, he will pee then we will get back inside and a few minutes later I will find poop on the floor. I think when he live with my parents, they just let him out the back door for about 20 minutes and that was it. But now he lives with me and i have to walk them outside since I live in an apartment. I don't know how to get him to stop. He will look straight at you and drop it, If we say NO and "try" to drag him to the door he just keeps going then he runs around the apartment and steps all in it. It's getting really annoying, and he knows he did something bad cause after he does he goes in his kennel, and also steps in the poop.

I have 4 firtile Afghan hounds two males and two females. One is 8 years old he is the father of one female of 4 years and one male of 11/2 years and I have one import female of 4 years. I have bred the girls twice now and no puppies. The import female comes into season once every 13 months the other use to come into season ever 8 months and use to cry the blues for not having any puppies now she follows along with the other one. These girls are not related. Should I be getting another girl? My sire is getting old and I bought the Import girl for him and I can only get puppies out of local females. That is why I have a son and daughter they will not prodouce any either. They all live together inharmony except when there is food around. I seperate them when they eat and go to bed. I know my old male is the alfa because he controls the games in the house and he dose not alow any one to play with is import girl especailly his Daughter (weird?) so I seperate him from the games.

My German Shepherd pup is 25kgs @ 5 mths old, a recent mag article stated @ 5 mths on average should be no more than 20 kgs, he doesn't seem to be over weight, I have been feeding him expensive large breed puppy dry food (Hills SCience Diet) as recommended by the breeder plus all the usual extras a spoilt puppy gets.
Is my pup growing to fast/ in danger of future joint problems or like human kids do they simply have growth spurts that average out over time?

I have a four year old basset hound whom I have spoiled relentlessly! He has never been neglected, abused, or mistreated in any way. I have 3 children; 11, 8, and 9 who adore him. he is very fond of my 11 year old. However, over the last 3 months, he is becoming agressive towards everyone in the house. Last night, he bit my 11 year old for NO REASON (I saw it)! This morning, he actually growled at me and showed his teeth when all I was doing was going to pet him. I have no idea what to do or if this is normal-- Ever heard of another basset being this way?

Theres a toy that she carries around constantly and she goes into the closets and pulls out shoes, and whatever else is in there. She's been carrying around this toy for three days straight and I'm thinking that its just her motherly instincts kicking in or something?
