I agree with you! Since when can't America, once the wheat capital of the world, produce wheat?!?! We need to import it from China, a country that is NOT our friend, One that does not adhere to any kind of safety standards. After they poison our animals we are next because they have no strict guidelines. I know I definately check my purchases and if they say "Made in China" I make it stay in the store.
i checked some of the other posts and none had their animal affected. I did, an 8 week puppy at the time, who by God's grace is still alive. I guess you can say the cliche line, "This time it's personal".

I'm not defending the lead paint, that's wrong. On the other hand...you can't say that EVERYTHING coming out of China is bad or low quality. Don't you think that the companies in the US that are manufacturing the items in China should be blamed also. They are just as much at fault because the didn't monitor their products carefully enough. There are also things made in the US that are dangerous too, we've just heard about a recall of frozen pizzas because of salmonella, before that it was frozen pot pies. Companies all over the world are just going to have to crack down on their manufacturing processes and be much more careful.

I try not to buy anything from China as a rule, but it is getting harder all the time. All the Products that you take for granted is made in Europe when you look closely at the tag inside you will see made in the PRC.A lot of Companies in Europe and the US are Outsourcing there Products in the Far East Like Korea and mainly China using Sweat Shop Labour. Things like Sports Hats Canterbury of New Zealand are actually made in China, and also Bicycle Helmets. Most Bicycles are made in Korea now Including the Tyres its Disgusting. As a European I support Europe by Buying Goods made in Europe and also Occasionally USA and Australia , New Zealand. The Chinese have a Habit of Flooding Europe with there Junk like Cheap Shirts and Shoes thus Destroying our own Industries. Our Animals have not been Affected so far in Europe, But because most Industries although of a different Brand Name sometimes have links with there American Counterparts we have to be on our Guard.Good luck with youre campaign in the States.

In case you haven't noticed, take a look at everything around you, China practically owns the world economy.
Are you trying to say they did it on purpose, or that they're the only ones (country) who have had something like this happen?
Let's be realistic. Las Vegas-based ChemNutra Inc., which imported the gluten and sold it to companies that make pet food are the ones to go after, since it was mainly the US and Canada who got poisoned, not the world?

One company in China does not all the rest of the companies make, so the short answer is no.
I understand the question and I am following up every news article pertaining to that pet food scandal myself. It is coming in trickles, and it is disturbing to know that even the food purchased from the vet clinics were also found to not have escaped the contamination.
Many pet owners never ever use table scraps to feed their pets. Now how many people who have lost their loved pets have entertained the lament " I would have given him the food from my mouth" 'I will never feed my beloved pet poison", etc.
As for punishment for the company which sold the gluten contaminated with melamine, let the law take its course.

Why on earth would we boycott a country when it is the manufacturer of the food who is to blame?
China isn't the problem. The people who make the food and don't care about where the ingredients come from.
Sorry but this idea isn't even close to well thought out. I appreciate the passion that motivated you to say this, but you really should stop and try to think this through more carefully.

why are we not boycotting American products for killing people? Tainted Odwalla juices, Jack in the Box burgers, bad spinach, the list of items and companies goes on and on...should we boycott American made items?? Let's not forget Ford and Firestone.

It's sad that in many places like China - pets are not always considered valid living beings who deserve our love and respect
