You really have to see a vet for a Rx. OTC wormers won't take care of Tapeworms.

For tapeworms there are a few medications you can get. These will have to be purchased from a vet. There is what is called a Canine Droncit and it is a pill for that has a bitter taste to them to the dog so they might not like them. The other downside to this medication is that if it is a large dog like a pit bull they will have to take several pills at once. The other product that I am familiar with is Canine Drontal. The drontal is a beef flavored pill that they like much better and have to take less of the pills. The price on the drontal is just about 2xs more tho.

You have to get medication from the vet. I think it may be prescription, because I never see anything for tapeworms in stores, only for the roundworms and hookworms.

You get the appropriate tapeworm medication from your vet and then you keep your dog flea free.
