Theres a toy that she carries around constantly and she goes into the closets and pulls out shoes, and whatever else is in there. She's been carrying around this toy for three days straight and I'm thinking that its just her motherly instincts kicking in or something?

She's 2 years
Never had pups
The toy is one of those silly slammer things that make noise and all she does is carry the toy around and pull things out of the closets.....It also seems that she's very restless

If you don't like the behavior...END IT. Take away the toy and don't give it back. You are boss and the dog is not human or have human emotions. Be the boss and the dog will be fulfilled.

I have to say my 2 yr. old female dog is doing the same thing this last week. She carries this toy around everywhere, hiding in places (and she doesn't hide), moving things around to hide & when our other house dog gets near her she gets all protective and freaks out if he tries to play with the toy or her. She just doesn't seem her normal self. She's never had a litter of pups and isn't in heat (or never acted this way before coming into heat). Our male dog is only about 41/2 months old, so I don't think he can breed yet. I don't know what it is either?

If she is carrying one toy around your right, she might be haveing mothering instincts, especially if she's in heat. As for the closet "cleaning" that can also be expained. Closets are dark confined places that would make excellent dens or birthing chambers... She's cleaning them out so they can be her den. If she's an outside dog, you may also check with a vet to see if she is pregnant.

She may hae had a false pregnancy and may want to hide her baby (the toy) in a safe place if this is what is going on let her have the toy and do this but only for a few weeks if it goes on much longer than that thn take the toy awway and put it up where she can no longer get it.

Maybe if he was once up practically the kangol (detrimental i would upload) the loud noise will have affected his ears, the entire exercise in and across the house will have burdened him out, placed him someplace calm and spot if that is helping him, his backyard in an effort to talk has been disrupted in order that would possibly account for the unusual behaviour, take him to the vets if he doesnt upgrade, he might have an harm that isnt visible to you and he cant inform you'll be able to he!

Yes you would have to give more information . My puppy has a toy that she plays with all the time. It might just be she likes that toy just like if you like a special plate or shoes.

Is she pregnant? If so, she may be 'nesting' getting ready to deliver. If not, is she carrying a baby inside? Strange behavior in animals is their way of letting us know something is wrong, since they can not talk to us. have her checked out.

it sounds like your doggy wants to be a mother. my friend has a female dog thats about three years old. shes never had puppies but if you put a stuffed toy by her she licks it and tries to nurse it. she used to do it with phones too! if you try to take the phone off her she gets mad.
