Well I know they require a lot of care, and that they cost a ot of money to take care of them but I love puppies/dogs! I'm 12 and I am very responsible...(my mom said I act like an 18 year old) Not like other people I WILL do everything...like pick up poo, give her new water, new food, bathe her...because I want one SOOO bad! My neighbor almost bought me a puppy for christmas, but she didn't because she new my mom would kill her. BTW we don't have a fenced in yard, but does it matter if it's going to be inside anyways? Oh yeah and we also have a flea problem and my mom doesn't want the puppy/dog to get them from outside and bring 'em inside. Get what I mean? I NEED ADVICE ON HOW TO PERSUADE HER INTO EVEN THINKING ABOUT IT!!! PLEEZ!

My dog has what appears to be a blood blister on her foot, it's on the top of her foot between a couple of toes. We thought it might be a blister but there doesn't seem to be anything but blood in it. What could it be? What should we do? It seems to be a little sensitive to her and she keeps licking it?

An ex-boyfriend of mine gave me this dog about a year ago after finding her on the street in a bad neighborhood. She is about a year and a month old...I have some pictures of her on the link below. I really cannot figure out what breeds she is mixed with. My vet says he has no clue (I kinda think I need a new vet though). She is a real good dog, she likes people but often scared alot. I think she was beaten when she was younger so we spoil her alot at my house (she basically runs the place). Everyone has told me that she has german shepard in her...I have also heard collie, lab, pit and some others...If anyone can look at her and tell me what you think..it would really be alot of help...thanks....

I am looking to make dog food from home. I want it to have vitamins in it. I don't know if I am able to get "human" vitamins and mix in the food, or what can I give that is nutritional? Any recipes? I know oats, chicken, beef, peas, & stuff is good, anything else, or ideas would be helpful. Thank you. Oh and if you comment on feeding dogs "people-food" I don't care to hear it. Making my dogs homemade dog food is better than what I could buy at the store!

Is there anyone who either has or knows of someone who has a hybrid wolf dog and have been able to tame it like a normal watch dog (domestic dog) or are they always worried about the dog or what it will do to someone else?

I've taken my Maltese puppy to the groomer 4 times now. I'm always very impressed. The groomer always makes her smell like cotton candy and they always put a cute little bow in her hair. BUT....the last time I took her they cut her really deep right below her eye. I understand how this can happen since she is a very hyper puppy, but they did not even bother to tell me. They just stopped the bleeding with a septic pencil. I did not even notice until a day later because the septic pencil covered up the dried blood. My question is should I take her back to the same place? I can understand how this can and probably does happen anywhere. So, is it a waste of time just to take her somewhere else?

My chihuahua just went into heat. I noticed just today that she is bleeding. (have no idea how long) I was just wondering if there is any special care I should be giving while she is in heat and bleeding. Also I would like some detailed information on when and how I should breed her. She has been on a high quality puppy food for about 2 months and has had a vet checkup to see if she is healthy enough and able to breed. But I just wanted to know what days to breed her and how the process goes. Like are you supposed to leave the dogs alone, or is it okay to be in the same room with them? Please no rude comments...

My husband & Mom adopted her when she was 8 weeks (we took her off the streets (literally) she was dumped). She wet into heat 3/9 & since yesterday she humps us all alot. After she wakes up, after she goes outside for the bathroom especially. She will hump & scratch us none stop for 2 hours. She grabs hold of you then humps you & she pants really heavy. I try to cover u with a blanket & she thinks you r playing so she tr to tke it & hump that as well. How long will this last? How long will her heat last? Anything I can do to speed it up or take her mind off it that won't hurt her? We are plaining on getting her fixed next month at 9 months (were told that couldn't be spayed till 1 yr)!! What can I do to help her I have scratches all over my right arm , shoulder, top of chest. My hubby has scratches on right arm. I tell her "NO" & "HALT'' & my hubby tells her "NO" but she doesn't listen. She is really starting to hurt us!! I love her but am afraid of her since she keeps hurting me!!

We have 2 German Shepherds, a male and a female. The male is very large (he has a lot of german in him) and the female is just about average size for an american. We live in town, right by a school so there is quite a bit of traffic around the house (walking and driving). There are several people who seem to think that our dogs are 'bad' or 'dangerous'. And anytime I let my daugher play outside around the dogs I get dirty loks from random people. Our dogs are the sweetest you will ever meet. They are just very teritorial...when anyone comes on our property they raise hell....but that is their job. People just need to understand that the only way either of our dogs would hurt anyone is if we were in danger. Everyone just needs to stop stereotyping dogs!!! How can I get people in our neighborhood to see that our dogs are not a danger to anyone?

Thanks for any suggestion. He is nearly potty trained. He goes out and does his business. In the past 2-3 days he has been lightly urinating in little stream around the house...they look like a line across the floor...like a string. He does this when we come home and let him out of his crate..he's very excited to see us...but he laso does it numerous times in the evening, this has just happened in the past few days.

what is going on?

My German Shephard was pretty old but over all in good health. She died 2 days after eating the Ol' Roy brand of recalled dog food. She ate it Tuesday, she wouldn't eat anything on Wednesday, and she died Thursday.Is there going to be a large lawsuit against the company?

We have 2 puppies that were born in December. They've grown ALOT and {Oh yeah, only 2 survived...1 boy, 1 girl} The male puppy is very rough, aggresive, just straight up mean. The female puppy is rough but not as rough as the male. We are thinking of putting the male to sleep or giving it away. I don't want to, the male belongs to my little sister and I don't want her to have to give up her puppy. Mine is the female and I think I could keep her under control but I want to know something just in case.

Soon they will be really big, They are a Lab/Chow Mix. With one being mean like it is, as I said, it either has to be put asleep or givin away.

I need some good information on how to train a dog. A flick on the nose and a newspaper swat does no good. Pro info will be appreciated. SERIOUS answers will be greatfully appreaciated. If you found your answer on a website, plz post a link.

{When I say training I mean, Bathroom & Obedience}

Thanks!!!
