Is there anyone who either has or knows of someone who has a hybrid wolf dog and have been able to tame it like a normal watch dog (domestic dog) or are they always worried about the dog or what it will do to someone else?

Many people have a wolf for a pet. They are lovely creatures. I dearly miss one called "Kiva" who lives in a mountain village as a local character in the Rockies. Kiva loved to run up behind women on Mainstreet and pull their sweat pants down and then run off giggling in wolf. She could run up a mountain and back down so fast it was stunning.

Hybrids happened in the wild by accident for years. Those who deliberately breed hybrids do a disservice to both the dog and the wolf. Mainly because there is no guarantee of behaviour. A lot depends on amount of wolf DNA. Luckily, there are a few hybrid rescues that know what they are doing and can take care of these mixes properly. The bottom line is that the average person can get in over their head with a wolf hybrid. The wolf blood has to be respected as being a wild creature not intended as a house pet.

That does not mean that these mixes cannot be wonderful companions and do well as a "dog". They are however illegal to have in a lot of states and vets will not treat them. May be required to report ownership of a hybrid to "wildlife authorities". A lot of those being deliberately bred are being bred for all the wrong reasons by persons not really caring or knowledgeable of what they are creating.

Any we have encountered have been released to the proper hybrid rescues where they have the environment and knowledge to handle the wolf mix.

First of all it is illegal to breed this way. Wolves are beautiful creatures but not meant to be a house pet. Humane society's put them down if brought in. The wolf pack won't accept them, and they have a very difficult time adjusting to domestic life. German Shepherds are wonderfully faithful and are great watch dogs, they are very loyal to their families. It is sad that someone may be breeding wolves with (I assume) German Shepherds, it is a lose-lose situation for all involved.

I think no one can keep a wolf even if it's tamed cause it can bite people and hurt them really bad and you have to pay for the wounds.

The problem is that each one is an entity into it's self, and there is no way to know if you are breeding the temperment that you want.
