My 10 month old pup has a habit of gently play biting. He is very gentle and he does is mostly when we are rough housing. Sometimes he will just sit on the couch and put my hand in his mouth and start to fall asleep. Is this a comfort thing or what? I'm not worried because he is so gentle but I am curious.

My husband and son (7 years) is wanting a boston terrier, and I
am firmly against this idea. We also have a 2 year old, and we live in the hot, humid climate of Louisiana. I do not want an animal in the house due to my concerns about allergies, dog smell, and destruction of household items (furniture, shoes etc.) I am very meticulous about my home.
I would like for dog owners and non dog owners to provide their opinions to this dog dilemma.

We recently became the owners of her brother (Loki) as well, and when he came they started to play really quite rough. Loki is a stronger dog and usually played rougher. At first I didn't mind thier interaction, but then I realized that Sadie doesn't know when to 'turn it off'. She now plays rough with other dogs, mostly older or smaller dogs. I really don't think her intention is to hurt the other dogs, as when she is done with her rumble her tail is wagging and she acts normal again (Yes, I do scold her while in the act). Like I mentioned earlier she was actually reported to have jumped the fence the other day to "attack" (as the other owner stated) another dog! I keep a close eye, but sis not see this, however I did see Sadie outside of the fence, and jump back over into the yard. This dog is quite a bit older than Sadie and was most likely scared and reacted as so. Sadie used to be so sweet and goofy and timid, rolling onto her back as soon as she was approached. What should I do?

i live in england, does anyone know of very good breeders ( NOT PUPPY FARMS ) in the uk. Were wanting to breed for type and temprement and want a good database to research and ask the breeders questions before we can carry on. Thankyou, if a good kennel is outside the uk but good enough to travel we'd like to know about them also.

When we are out of the house little Alfie is brilliant, he always goes to toilet where hes supposed too. But when we are in the house in wees wherever he wants. I know this maybe an attention thing, but don't know how to curb it. He is very rarely left on his own, and when we are in the house the main focus is on him!!! ARG....He ia amazing in everyother way, hes very quick to learn, he sits, gives paws, worked out how to open doors, very clever indeed, we both adore him, but are fed up with cleaning up mess when we are in the house with him. He has a rountine which I have regiously stuck too!! He goes out up to four times a day for nice walks..I don't get it!! Help x x

My Lab/Ret mix tries barking in her sleep at night. She sounds like a clucking chicken to be honest. It makes me wonder if this is normal just like humans dream or do I need to be aware of something that might have happened to her before my husband and I adopted her?

My lab is 16 yrs old. She's in good health, other than at times she does get arthrits in her hind legs.
One vet put her on "it's like Advil for people, but it is made for dogs....I cannot remember the name.
She is in no pain, I would NEVER let her suffer. But I wonder if anyone out there has any recomendations for the arthritis.....thank you!!!

my shihtzu pup of about 9 weeks recently had feces that had "saliva like" fluid around the feces, some blood traces and was cringing in pain for brief moments. I brought her to the vet and they found mite and protozoa in the feces. Even the vet found this strange because mite are usually found in the skin not in the stool. Anybody know more of this phenomenon?

I have a question and I want people's opinion and advice as to whether I'm doing the right thing or not?

I have a 5 year old Nephew with ADD. Anyway he loves my 6 year old GR Bonnie licking his face. I'm just wondering if it's normal and ok? It seems to relax and calm him down so I see it as a type of therapy for him. Although I've heard conflicting stories as to whether it's good or bad so I just want to hear people's opinions as I know a lot of young kids like having their face licked a lot.
