i live in england, does anyone know of very good breeders ( NOT PUPPY FARMS ) in the uk. Were wanting to breed for type and temprement and want a good database to research and ask the breeders questions before we can carry on. Thankyou, if a good kennel is outside the uk but good enough to travel we'd like to know about them also.

if your dog is a champion then his stud fee is generally worth what you paid for him.

if you think he is exceptional, and worth more than you can ask for the price of two puppies after they are sold, or the pick of the litter

if he has more than 8 or less then 3 then you have to negotiate what happens next, if its one of two puppies generally you may take your pup and offer a re-breeding at no charge, if its more than 8 i would ask for more money

you have to bring the female to you, and if this is your first time studding your dog then you probably shoudl have your dogs breeder there to help

and that being said i would go back to your dogs breeder to choose a female as they know the line better

The very best of the breeds stud dogs are available to all. I think you will have a hard time getting nice bitches to come to you if you don't continue to show him.

Dog shows can be cliquey, but we have all had to pay our dues as well. It will get better, you need to prove yourself as more than just a temperary handler.

Are you aware that stud dogs can become quite difficult to handle and may have an increase in aggression and marking after he is used? Studs do not make the best of pets and he will remain a much nicer pet if he is never used. Is it worth it to you?

Usually the stud fee equals the cost of one of the puppies, or you can take one of them in place of a fee if desired.
