My 4 month old puppy will carry on conversations with me, till I figure out what it is she's trying to tell me. I'll ask her tons of questions, and she will answer me until I ask the right question, then gives me a better response. It's a series of whines, howls and barks that she does. It's soooo cute! lol

But, she also has a unique way of telling me that I've forgotten something. For example, she will sit in the living room, when it's bedtime to signal that I'd forgot her treat, to shut something off, or something like that. If only she could remind me to fix the coffee before bed..... lol
Tell me how your pooch talks... And I don't mean the one's who can say "mamma" lol
Thanks for your answers!

My male doxie is going in for surgery tomorrow. He is going to be neutered. He also has one testicle that is not descended and will have to have more extensive surgery than normal. Has anyone else ever had this problem/type of surgery on their pet? Will they give him pain meds? He only weighs 6 lbs and is full grown. He is also blind. I feel that I may have a hard time with him following the surgery.

I once asked if it was normal that my dogs were eating each other's poo. However, I've learned that it's the outside cat's poo that they are digging up....in my flowerbeds, no doubt. How can I make them stop? Better yet, how do I make the cat stop pooping in the flower beds? AAHHHH!!!

I'm in Northern Indiana, and need to get a pet crate for my parents...they are adopting a miniature schnauzer this weekend, and the crate does not come with it. Where is the least expensive place to find a crate for them? Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a rottwaller (dog) and lately for the past few months he has been licking his front paws so much it developed into serious wounds, I went to see the crappy vet, and she seem more scared of the dog than wanting to help him, she said it was stress and would pass, but it isn't passing, and obviously the vet isn't worth s***....can anyone else help me??

anti-inflams and cough medecine. She seems to have a bad dose of it, any idea on average how long the dreadful coughing lasts? It's heartbreaking to hear her coughing so much.

We are looking into getting an older pup. She is supposed to be from a litter of 8. The breeder was going to keep for show. Breeder sells all pups on FULL Registration, however, when I tried to find the registered names of her littermates (possible through the AKC website because I have this particular pups registration #), and none of the other 7 are even registered. What could this possibly mean? They were supposedly whelped in July, making them 8 months now. Supposedly from CH Bloodlines, why wouldn't they register their pups? Could there be something less then ethical going on? Could this breed be a go between / broker of some sort?

We signed up for a spa day meetup with a toy breed group. It'll be loads of fun and I know our dog will really enjoy it. We know they don't necessarily need baths due to their very fine, short coats...and our dog doesn't really enjoy being wet. But it being a spa day, what's included for $15 is Wash, condition treatment, dry, nails, ears. He could really use the nail treatment.....but for the bath? Should I pass, see if they can give me a discount or should I make him go through the torture (he doesn't smell horrible, but doesn't smell great either).

What do you think?

Turns out my dog didn't have a genetic predisposition to heart murmurs - she has massive heart damage from an infection. Hopefully, she'll beat the infection - she seems much better since yesterday afternoon - and if she does beat it, her life span has still been reduced to 1 - 3 years from now because of the damage to two valves.

So many things - having her take her pills (4 pills 2x/day) is a huge struggle. Whatever food we hide it in, she will no longer eat. Several times, I've had to pry open her boxer/pit bull (vet's estimate) jaws and push the pills down. Suggestions for an easier way/one that doesn't leave her so mad at me, formerly her favorite? We'll be doing this the rest of her life.

She's on Cipro and Augmentin, 500 mg/day each.

If she survives the infection, what can we do to improve her quality of life? Until last Thursday, she could run faster than the wind, climb halfway up trees, and leap over hedges. Now, if she tries to run on her leash, she's tired.

Is it because I am the pack leader? They follow me around from room to room, everywhere I go...even when I take a shower!

They are both laying at me feet right now. I am not complaining...I live the company :)

Advice please. I have just adopted a three year old blue merle border collie from an animal rescue.
The only history given was that he was brought up with 3 children and a cat and was given to the rescue (along with the cat) because his owners where moving and the new property had a 'No Pets' policy. I will never know if this story is true or false.
I haven't brought him home yet as I am having new fencing put up in my garden to make it pooch proof. I go to the rescue most days to walk him, I hope to fetch him home next week. He isn't use to a lead, he tries to bite it in a playful way. He pulls like mad too. Would a haltie be a good idea once I get him home? The rescue give me a choker to walk him with, but he pants and chokes like crazy. He will sit, lie give paw on command but they are brief, as soon as he sits he's up again and the same for lie down. He doesn't like other dogs and isn't neuterd. Ides or advice welcome. Would agility be a possibility in future or is he too old?
