1st off that was way to young to take away from mom.8weeks is the youngest they should leave their Mom. You should put a big stuff animal in there with her & a ticking clock by the crate. You can also buy the stuff animals with the beating heart in side them. it should help comfort her. When potty braking her take her out every 1hr to 1 1/2 hr & tell her potty. When she wakes up take her out & after she eats. Also put a puppy pad in her crate at night so she can use that or set your clock to get up & take her out. Get her into the vet to make sure she is healthy & ask what type of food you should give, I feed my dogs Royal Canin. Works great for them. Best of luck to you.

I have raised some and my mother as well. Not that breed but puppies that mothers have gotten killed or died.
I agree with several of the answers, the puppy is missing it's mates. I NEVER have one dog, I have found out that they get lonely when I'm gone just like a human. Mine have always seemed happier with some kind of friend or companion that's almost always with them.
Several people have said one of the best things, you need to give it a supplement in place of the mother's milk. You can buy premixed or there is a solution the vet can tell you how to mix, I don't have the recipe with me but it has, if I remember correctly, condensed milk, egg & Karo syrup in it but I don't remember the amount of each. Ask your vet if you can't afford to buy the premixed, most of them will tell you how to mix it at home.
As far as her sleeping, get an old alarm clock and put it in the box with her one of the old "big ben" style clocks that you can actually hear ticking. Also you can put a hot water bottle with a good thick towel wrapped around it to simulate another person or dogs warmth. Usually the ticking sound and the warmth of the water bottle will soothe them and they'll sleep better. (But I still believe a friend is the best.) I used a small heat lamp above my kittens along with the water bottle so to help keep them warm and to help the water bottle stay warmer longer. If you use a heat lamp, be careful, you can over heat a small animal very easy and I NEVER leave mine on when I'm gone. The best thing is talk to a vet or breeder and get their opinions on the subject. There are several things you can try and I'm sure there are more persons with other helpful solutions, so don't take my word on it 100%, all animals are different.

A puppy that young should have not been taken from its mother; however, your question was tips:
You can buy supplemental puppy milk at any large petstore chain (Petco, Petsmart, etc.) or obtain it from a vet. I think I remember the name being Isbilac or something close. The puppy needs the best nutrition he can get while he's growing so fast.
To help with those lonely nights, try putting a ticking clock next to his crate or a radio that plays soft, comforting music. This will help him not feel so "alone". Give him lots of attention and cuddles before crate time. Do not leave the puppy in the crate for extended periods of time.
Best of luck.

I got my puppy at 6 weeks due to the fact his mon had health problems. I make the mistake of staying up with him for the first two nights, then put him in a crate with a blanket and stuffed animal. ( maybe an alarm clock that ticks to sound like the moms heart beat!) It will take time. Good Luck!

You may want to try the milk supplement, the stuffed animal, the ticking clock, and a blanket, but you may also want to put a small heating pad underneath the crate not inside it may cuse burns then. The pup was used to having litter mates and a mom laying with it for extra heat, and now that it is buy itself it is probably cold. The heating pad will help with this, and you got a lot of other great suggestions I would try, but you may want to add the heating pad. Good Luck.

She is confused and lonely and it sounds like you and your mom are doing everything you can for her. Also with a pup that young you may want to ask your vet if she needs a food supplement that would normally be gotten from her mothers milk. Good luck
