Yes they can be spayed which stops her coming into season and prevents her having pups.Deciding on what sex to get is really personal preference,i've owned both and theres nothing really different in there personality's,although they do say bitches are easier to own for novice dog owners as there generally more affectionate, but me personaly have found this to be the other way around. My bi tch is highly strung and doesn't like other females, where as my dog loves everyone and everything.

Females tend to be more calmer and less robust compared to males who are full of testerone.
Thats just my opinion.

Since you have had male pets before then why not get a male boston terrier. I am sure there's something for the females during season - just ask the vet for advice.

Go ahead get a dog you will have much more fun they are far more inquisitive than a female. Cracking little dogs and a terrier through and through. Sorry they starred out what a real female!!!!! is called.

Females do go into season at around 6 months-year of age. This can be prevented by getting her spayed at the vets. This will also prevent her from getting pregnant, mammary tumours and uterine infections, which can be fatal.

females are less trouble, i have one dog that has to mark every blade of grass when out for a walk yet the bitches have only one or two places where the mark.
