My German Shephard was pretty old but over all in good health. She died 2 days after eating the Ol' Roy brand of recalled dog food. She ate it Tuesday, she wouldn't eat anything on Wednesday, and she died Thursday. Is there going to be a large lawsuit against the company?

Hello.
Symptoms can be: Drinking and urinating frequently, vomiting, and lethargy are the top 4 signs. The company is requesting records of all related episodes in particular if you have fed food with the identifying lot numbers. Please see that your veterinarian informs them. If they are not able to, please report it to the DEA I am so sorry for your loss.

I had a pet die of kidney failure a few years ago. Unfortunately, symptoms of kidney failure normally do not show up until it is too late, and a 70-80% loss of function. The signs of kidney failure include jaundice (in animals look for a yellowish ting on their paws, nose, eyes, and other visable skin like in their ears), lethargy, vomiting, decreased appitite, no appitite, constipation, pruritis, and tremors.

I am truly sorry for the loss of your dog. There most likely will be a lawsuit and the best advice I can give is to contact a lawer. Good luck.

First and most important...SO SO SO sorry for your lose. I HATE losing pets....yet we keep them till the end knowing they will get old and die. That's the price of unconditional love I guess.
Anyway...yes. Vomiting, fatigue, urinating ALOT...are symptoms. Although I'm not a vet, I am not so sure this was from the food. Alot of times it takes longer than 2 days to kill them. It may have been a mix of her old age as well. Maybe another underlying illness with no obvious symptoms. If you want to feel better about it, ask your vet his opinions.

Again, so so sorry!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry to hear about your dog. That has to be heartbreaking.

The symptoms that people have been reporting have been that their pets were sluggish and had stopped eating and drinking. I know that at least one lawsuit has been filed already. Here is a link to the site regarding that.

I would imagine there will be tons of law suits against the company given the national attention. If you feel your dog is suffering from the ill effects of bad dog food, get your pet to the vet ASAP. There's a possibility the damage can be reversed with prompt treatment.

it'a really not ol'roys fault. its menu foods, thats who makes the canned food for many premium/non premium companies. the signs are lethargy, loss of appetite, diarrhea/vomiting, and excessive water drinking. you may be able to get money back, but i really hope some action is done. i know when diamond had it's recall there were lawsuits filed...i dont know if it was a money refund or a remodel of the company....

You know whats sick? The menu foods brand knew about a month before they initiated the recall that their food was contaminated, but choose not to tell anyone.
