After my dog run and plays for a while he starts wheezing and coughing. I'm not sure if there is such a thing as dog asthma, but any info would help. After he calms down for awhile, and gets a drink he seems fine, it just happens after he has been running. He also seems to get short of breath faster than other dogs. We have another dog who runs just the same, and doesn't even seem winded. Our dogs are very healthy, and not over weight... what should we do?

I adopted a mix shepherd/rhodesian mix dog four months ago. he now weighs 90 pounds, which sadly is only 20 pounds less than me. He has been trained to walk on the leash, sit, stay, down, and come. The only problem is he is leash aggressive to other dogs. Due to his size, I can't correct it with the leash, he is just too strong. I have tried a halti and a prong collar at the suggestion of a behaviorist. The behaviorist said he has an insensitive neck. We have also tried a shock collar, which had no effect on him. He has literally dragged me on the ground before. I'm sad b/c he is a danger to other dogs b/c of my inability to control him. I'm literally too weak. Any suggestions.

Well you see one day I was dusting the floor when suddenly my dog started to attack it. It is blue and she goes crazy when she gets it. We had tried everything from hidding it to putting it far away in the garage. I would throw it away but I need it. my dog is a full yorkie and I can not stop her. What should I do?

I have a wonderful companion, Keeshond. I want to find a stud for but i am not interested in a pure bred litter, i want to mix her with another breed, but i do not know what breeds are copatible, most suitable, or most healthy.
I have been looking for a list all over the internet for compatible mixing breed's, but i am unsure if such a list exsists?
Can anyone help? Thanks

My 80 lb. Doberman is vomiting after he eats. When he gets sick, it looks like he didn't chew his food...most of it seems still to be whole. (dry Pedigree dog food) I checked his stools & I don't see any worms (he's been wormed) & he doesn't act sick except for at meal time. I'm about to take him to the vet but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
Thanks

I live in Queensland, Australia. One of our neighbours has put out poisoned bait to kill wild dogs ect and we were not notified that the bait was going to be put out. There were also no signs in the area. The bait was poisoned with ten eighty, that can kill anything from doemstic animals to any wildlife. Our dog ate the bait, went crazy and started vomiting before she jumped in2 our dam and sunk to the bottom. We want to have a go at out neighbours for killing our dog, but we are not sure of the rules and regulations behind baiting. Can u help me?

I brought my puppy to the vet and was told that she has hydrocephalus. I am not sure that this is the right diagnosis for her being that she has made so much progress since she was born. She is a yorkie and was born Jan 3rd and weighed less than 3.5 oz. I have been bottle feeding her since and she has gained to about 12 oz now. I am feeding her a formula called renurse which is supposed to help in promoting healthy brain development. She still has the soft spot on her head(open fontanelle). But she is getting stronger everyday. She still can't walk but did stand last night for the first time. Can a dog with hydrocephalus eventually walk and if so what can I do to help her? If anyone has suggestions all are welcome and thanks in advance.

BTW: Her name is Angel.

Star and I almost never meet another dog on the trail when I walk him. He is well-trained and behaves well when there are no doggy distractions -- sits, heels, never pulls. But if he sees another dog, he tunes me out and hauls on his leash (he's 97 lbs!) At that point, he will not listen to any commands. I know that I cannot give up and reward his pulling by letting him do it, so it always degenerates into an ugly yanking match.

I've tried distracting him with very yummy treats, but when he sees another dog, it doesn't matter to him. How can I deal with this problem?
